Mr. Juan Mena

Matt McKool has represented me, my family and affiliated businesses since 2009. During that time, he has sent demand letters and filed lawsuits in several business and personal matters. His demand letters and lawsuits have often resulted in settlements or judgments in District, County and Justice c...ourts. He has also provided valuable legal, corporate and business advice and prepared several contracts and agreement with employees, customers and service providers. I give him my highest recommendation.

Worthless

Showed up 15 mins late for my hearing. Failed to present my evidence. Mr McKool being a tool, and torpedoing my case tells the judge "Would it matter judge?"

Not true. I appeared prior to the scheduled hearing. The alleged statement "Would it matter" was misstated and involved the inaccurate paraphrasing of a comment to the Court, upon inquiring whether I objected to the qualifications of an expert and was to the effect that I did not object to the qualifications of an expert witness and that I agreed that the witness was adequately qualified to provide expert testimony. Several exhibits (evidence) were filed prior to the hearing and were admitted and extensively discussed during the hearing, In addition, there was an extensive and thorough examination and cross examination of witnesses (including my client and expert testimony). All the evidence and testimony was discussed at the hearing and was considered by the hearing officer. The hearing was professionally handled and involved confidential healthcare information upon which I will not comment. I understand that the process was unfamiliar and involved physical and emotional stress, which precipitated the making this comment. In any event, this comment is unfair and not an accurate reflection of what occurred.

New experience for me in mediation

Mr. McKool did not speak unless it was pertinent during my recent mediation of Nov 7, 2014. I believe he could have been a bit more assertive regarding my decline in continued back pain and the fact I have had to take pain med continuously since the accident as well documented in Dr's notes. Realizi...ng I had previous bk injuries did not detract from the fact this accident in question served to acceserbate those injuries. My inability to gain and maintain employment was not addressed. In saying that, I believe Mr. McKool did the best he could.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
