I will be forever grateful for the hard work and diligence of Carla Earwood and her paralegal Norman James. A few years back, I was referred to Carla via my employee assistance program. I knew from our very first conversation that we would be a good match. She absorbed a ton of info from me and I gen...uinely felt like she was empathetic of my situation. As I began to work with her, I realized how caring and compassionate she really is as a person. She is also extremely knowledgeable, friendly, communicative, punctual and kept me informed throughout every step of the process. Unfortunately, the initial decision from the SSA resulted in a denial. Carla informed me that we would immediately appeal (I didn’t lift a finger) and eventually, we won the case! It was a life changing decision for me. I should mention that there were parts of the process that were confusing (to me) but Carla navigated them with impressive professionalism. I should also mention that there were times where Carla could not be reached, but I was able to get my questions quickly answered by her assistant Norm. He is an absolute gem as well. In the end, I feel extremely fortunate to have crossed paths with Carla and her team. We had some great phone conversations and she told me a few hilarious stories along the way. Lastly, it is worth mentioning these 2 important factors. If need be, she can represent you via video even if you aren’t located in Texas, like she is. Also, my case was on a contingency basis . I was referred to Carla by a friend when starting my disability case. Carla met with me ONCE and told me that I wouldn't need her services. I would almost certainly be approved with my first application. I was! I still had issues finding health insurance. I called Carla back to ask her after getting... very disorganized answers from both HHCS & SSI. She told me what was available to me in my area. 30 min later, I'm insured! Carla and Norm have been superb. I have had some stress using attorneys before that never did what they said. This is NOT the case with Carla and Norm. They do what they say they are going to every time and you don't have to ask but once. If you need to get Social Security Disability, I absolutel...y recommend Carla. She worked for Social Security so she knows how it works and what to do. She told me she could get me approved but just didn't know when in the process. We had to go all the way to a trial and she was impressive. She was organized and prepared. We won in about ten minutes! Carla is direct and factual and donated whatever time was needed to me and my case. Norman was always available to assist when Carla was in court. They are a great team. Both are very kind, supportive, and knowledgeable. They made a very stressful and lengthy ( almost 3 year) experience a pleasant experience. They work hard for their money and, since the law limits the amount they get paid, that is amazing. I cannot say enough good things about this practice. Do not hesitate to use Carla and Norm to guide you through the process. I would have been very scared without them. I trusted them completely. I would recommend Carla to anyone needing to get Social Security Disability. She is worth the money. Do NOT try this process without an attorney.
