I am a former Judge and Assistant District Attorney/Prosecutor. I have over 40 years experience. I have been a candidate for the State Senate. I do not plead clients guilty to have spoken at many seminars teaching other attorneys about dwi. I have won more dwi cases than I can remember and most of them were to a jury. Don't let a plea lawyer plead you guilty. I have been a candidate for Dallas County Commisoner. Many judges have told me that in their opinion I am the best attorney in front of a jury they have ever seen. In 1984 I tried a civil injury case and the jury awarded me a verdict of a quarter million dollars. Prior to trial I was offered $. After forty years practice I have more experience than ninety five percent of the attorneys I see every day. I have spoken at many seminars where attorneys are taught how to try Dwi cases. If you want an attorney that will fight for you yhen you should hire me.

Outstanding DWI lawyer
Tom represented me in a DWI case in Rockwall County and I was found Not Guilty. If you need DWI representation in the Dallas area Tom is one of the best in the business. He knows the law and just flat out gets results.

Very experienced and helpful!
Tom Hooton has been a valuable resource for me to have in my back pocket any time I need legal help. I have known Tom since 1995 and have learned through the years that he is the most reliable and knowledgeable lawyer I've ever met. His patience, vast knowledge, quick whit, and warm personality help...

You could do better
Very disappointed with the service I received from Mr. Hooton. He missed some court dates, was late for some, and just didn't seem very confident. In court, while he was questioning the officer, the paper in his hand was shaking. I found it odd that in every one of the police tests/ parameters for...
This client contacted me some two years after the trial and wanted me to go to court for him in order to get an order to remove the interlock on his car that would require a hearing in front of the Judge. I quoted a very reasonable fee. He said that he wanted me to do it for nothing. I told him I would not do that and he got very angry and wrote this comment. I tried this case to a jury and they did find him guilty.
"Mr. Hooton has proven himself in the courtroom as one of the very best DWI trial lawyers in the state of Texas. I have seen him win cases where the odds were tremendously against his client. His superior ability to select the best jury and to cross examine police officers gives him the edge in any trial."
"Tom is a well-respected attorney in the criminal defense bar and has the skins on the wall to prove it. He genuinely cares about his client and seeking justice."
"Tom is a lawyer's lawyer! He exudes confidence no matter what the circumstance he is facing. Tom is a very respected advocate who has earned both the respect and admiration of the prosecutors and judges he practices with. He has done so through his natural skill and hard learned past lessons that continually demonstrate tenacity, courage, caring, and most of all, his passion to protect the rights of every single client he represents. In sum, Tom Hooten is the model lawyer other attorneys want to become."
"Tom is one of the few DWI specialists. He never backs down from even the most challenging trials. Anyone charged with a DWI in Texas should have Tom on their side."
"I endorse this lawyer. He would be part of my DWI dream team of lawyers any day. He has expertise and familiarity with all the courts throughout the DFW metroplex."
"I wholeheartedly endorse Tom Hooton if you have a DWI. I have known Tom for 25 years. Tom is a fighter and the DA's know that and many times work out solutions for difficult cases. He is one of the few Dallas lawyers that actually go to trial in DWI cases. Tom is not much for pleading his clients guilty. He will fight ALL cases with good or bad facts. You can't go wrong if Tom is your lawyer."

“This was issued solely based on a technicality, not my abilities as a lawyer. In fact the higher court affirmed me. This should not be on my record, but after 44 years I guess it's expected when you count the number of cases i've handled. This was not filed by a client, but by the bar.”
