Pamela J. Lakatos

It had taken me all this time to write about this attorney whom we trusted and admired. She won an appeal case for defendant Ada Cuadros in 2009. Due to this, she became so excited that she volunteered to defend her. Everything came downhill from there. We supported her and believed in her. We paid h...er and her associate Roy Reeves good money that we raised for over five years due to the fact the defendant had no resources. We started noticing her lack of drive during the last two years of the process (2011-2012), she wouldn't even visit the defendant in jail to prepare her for trial and she wouldn't communicate with us supporters even though we repeatedly offered help. Critical information was missed (translator use, expert witness, etc.) She relied on one medical expert to testify for the defense and put all her eggs in one basket. She didn't even prepare the defendant to testify, which was critical. She and Reeves were unprepared, disorganized and lame. Key elements were missed in the trial. If she had put on a good fight, I wouldn't be writing this, but she didn't. When we first met Pamela she came across as strong and determined, all that changed at the end and they rendered a horrible defense for us who is now paying a price she does not deserve: life in prison. She and Reeves should at least make good to all of the people that raised this money by returning some of it in good faith. It's going to take another 60 to 100 thousand dollars to re-appeal and re-try with very little hope. I regret ever accepting the offer of this attorney.
