Warning

I hired this firm to help me appeal my divorce judgment, and it was one of the worst professional experiences I’ve ever had. After paying thousands of dollars, absolutely nothing was done. Communication was almost nonexistent — emails and calls were rarely returned, and when I did get a response, it ...lacked clarity, urgency, or any real strategy. There was no follow-through, no clear action taken on my case, and no sense that anyone was truly advocating for me or my children. I trusted this attorney to guide me through one of the most emotionally difficult seasons of my life, and instead, I was met with delay, indifference, and complete lack of effort. This law firm displayed everything a family lawyer should not: lack of transparency, poor communication, and zero sense of accountability. I would not recommend them to anyone — especially not someone needing real support through a sensitive and high-stakes legal matter.

Poor legal advice to get $$

STAY AWAY! Run! She’s dishonest, will advise it’s posible to get you all the things you want, once you’re on the hook, she will gaslight you and say she never said such things and bill you for chasing them when they don’t respond to any form of communication in a timely manner. They will make up bill...ing/invoices and when confronted they will make up some other billing and threaten you to keep billing you if you don’t budge- of course, she knows to be clever and take advantage when she knows you’re focused on a bigger battle. She is not there for her client, she could care less about running you down and your life by her lack of integrity with legal advice. She will say this is not true just like any other negative review. You been WARNED! She should not be practicing family law.

I wish this were an honest and transparent review where the person noted their name so that I could address them directly. If they had an issue or problem, they should call our office and discuss it directly but since they failed to do so, here is my repsonse. Yes, I will say that this is an outright lie because I only handle billing and adminsitrative tasks at my firm as the founding attorney. Next, I am totally honest with potential new clients. I don't lie to get business. I don't have to. At times, my transparency has resulted in us not getting hired and I'm fine with that. Honesty first because that is what I would want for myself. I don't know that this person understands the true meaning of gaslighting. There's not need for anyone to doubt our billing because we are completely transparent. Our billing rates and the fact that we are a billable firm is on our client representation letter and our new client addendum. Both of these things were signed when this person became a client. When a person signs a contract or document, I would assume they read and understood the terms. Additionally, this person was also sent a video explainng how we operate as a billable firm. Its a shame that my firm would get faulted for them not reading, watching or not entirely realizing that we are a billable firm after it was shared before engagement and after engagement 3 different ways. If they had questions, we would have answered them. Our billing is clear and invoices are always available in out client management portal. This means that they can see their invoices are anytime. I'm wondering if this client believed we should have worked for free? Does anyone? We enforce our contracts just lke all other proessionals. That's not a threat...that's just business. We do realize that litigation can be costly, so we are one of the few firms that even have 12 lending partners that allow our clients to pay their legal fees over time. And we have payment plans! How is that gaslighting when we try to assist out clients with handling fees in multiple ways? This person obviously brought their case and problem to us to help resolve. That means the finger should be pointed at the opposing party that made their case more litigious which obviously meant there had to be additional billing. We help people solve their problems and we do it well. Please see our other 5 star reviews from our other happy and satisfied clients. Good luck to you!

annonymous

I hired Avia Gauthier to get my child back. Avia have only been practicing for 4 years and have no knowledge to be practicing family law period. I never went through anything like this and she did not prepare me adequately for my hearing. The father of my child received more time than he should h...ave. In my opinion the good postings are bogus. It's also funny that they were all done recently. If you want to waste your money and lose your kids, yes hire this attorney. Otherwise, seek someone that knows the importance of your kids and what he/she are doing to help you.

First and foremost, its most interesting that this person chose to remain anonymous. This is certianly untrue and incorrect from the time I've been practicing, to the untruths about the case to the poor grammar. While I have not won every case, I have not lost a cusotdy case anytime recently. I over prepare all of my clients and have them completely comfortable and ready for hearings. No one works harder or cares more for clients than I do. This review is likely that of a disgruntled employee. If it is legitimate and valid, why not share a name so I can repsond directly and specifically.
