I focus exclusively on defending people accused of crimes. Representing real people facing consequences requiring the very best advice, judgment, and skill is deeply satisfying. I have devoted my career to protecting people from a harsh and broken criminal justice system. I have invested exceptional amounts of time, money, and effort into honing my trial skills, and I try several cases every year. I am a known threat in the courtroom, and I leverage that fact in every phase of a case, from plea bargaining to pre-trial practice.
I wanted to be a trial lawyer in high school and spent my academic career focusing on that goal. I was an exceptionally good law student, opening the door to a first job with a large and prestigious law firm in Dallas. I had a skyscraper office, my own secretary, every legal resource at my disposal, and a staggeringly good salary. But the work was all business-related civil lawsuits on behalf of the largest and most powerful companies and people in the world. I hated it. I lasted about a year. I started my own practice and won my first criminal jury trial the next year.
In my spare time, I love spending time with my wife and adult children, flying small airplanes, and traveling to new places.

DO NOT USE THIS MAN
his man is all about the money. He also likes drugs and cheating on his wife. Yes, he judges you, sizes you up, and then takes your money. He decided to believe a woman who weighed 450lbs. This woman without any records from doctors, police, friends, family, or anyone, that she was hit. She is a phot...
We spent at least 3 sessions and almost 12 hours total preparing you to testify. You knew there were two other women - your prior exes - waiting to testify as to the physical violence they claim you inflicted upon them as well. And yet you said "I would never do that" anyway. The trial transcripts are a matter of appellate record now. That was the answer that you gave that set you up to lose. You invoked your character, and that opened the door to that incredibly damaging testimony. If I made a mistake during your jury trial, it was trusting you to handle cross examination. But it was you who turned down deferred adjudication probation. It was you who insisted on a trial. It was you who chose to testify. It was you who blew it. You know I've been in recovery from drug addiction for more than a decade. You want to try and claim I'm an active addict when you know better? What happened to all that fake kindness and friendship you tried to engender with me? I worked hard for you. I believed in you. I do not appreciate these lies.
