Worst lawyer ever!

This man is a joke. I hired him and he took 6 months to even start a un contested divorce. I could of got full custody of my daughter a long time ago. He draghedbhis feet to another 6 months. Now he had been my lawyer a year with nothing started or finished. I ended up pregnant during the process. He... wanted to charge me another 3k in fees and i wanted tempory rights started he said that would be another 1500. A total 5k for what was supposed to only take 6 months. Now 1 and a half years later u hured another attorney and he refused to give me my money back. He is lazy and rude. Amd treats people like they are nothing. The entire time i meet with him hr was on his phone! Do your self a favor and do not hire him

I wouldn't recommend this clown to anyone.

I went through a divorce about 5 years ago. My wife successfully bilked me out of my kids, home, bank accounts etc... David Heiman managed to get about $20,000 of my money while providing NO service. He sent letters. That was about it. I provided him with a constant stream of evidence in the form of ...cell phone records that my wife was having an affair with my boss. He did nothing. I provided him with medical records that she was self abusive (picked sores on herself). He did nothing. In the final analysis, I found out HER lawyer was HIS apprentice. He just did nothing and took my money and lost me my kids. Don't EVER go to this clown. You will rue the day you did.

You get what you pay for

I hired David Heiman for my divorce simply because his rates are fairly inexpensive, but I got what I paid for. A simple, agreed divorce with no kids, no property, and no debt turned into four months of just trying to get this guy to file the one simple petition in my case to handle everything. It to...ok my now ex-wife finally calling him to give him a piece of her mind about his work ethic to light a fire under him. A word of advise, do not hire this guy. He was very rude to me throughout the entire (drawn out on his end) process, and acted as though he was better than me. Also, I did some research on him after the fact, and he has been diciplined several times by the State of Texas for his professional actions.

Unprofessional, irresponsible, and unresponsive

I've never met anyone as unprofessional and irresponsible as Mr. Heiman. I hired him because "I wanted results, not a fight", as his website states. The opposite is true. It was a fight to get him to do any kind of work on my case, and also a fight just to get him to respond to emails or phone calls ...about my case. Granted, I'm not someone that calls every week wanting a status update, but once every SIX MONTHS would be nice. Mr. Heiman was completely unprepared for my final divorce hearing. I tried contacting him for the three months prior to the court date to find out if he needed any information at all from me, with no response, and he finally called me (frantic) two days beforehand and insisted that I take off work and rearrange my schedule to come in the day before my trial. When I got there, he wanted extremely accurate financial information, like all bank account numbers, balances, student loan balances, mortgage information, blue book values of cars, my boat, my watch, etc. Sensing that I was frustrated with his failure to let me know that I would need any of this, he offered to let me use a computer in his tiny office. He offered to help look up blue book values if he could bill me hourly for it. I agreed, but saw that he was on facebook instead of looking things up. Oh, and the Judge informed me that the document Mr. Heiman was trying to prepare should have been filed over a year ago. I thought the nightmare was over after the final hearing, but the worst was yet to come. He filed something called a “QDRO”, which divides my retirement, without letting me review it first. My wife, whom I had been married for two years, received half of my 20+ year retirement account (PERMANENTLY) . Fortunantly, my ex wife is reasonable and is allowing me to fix it, although she didn’t have to. The real kicker is, David Heiman told me that he wouldn’t charge his entire $10,000 charge to appeal the case that soley messed up, be would only charge me $5,000. What a joke! I have the feeling the fiasco isn’t over. Please do not even consult with this guy!

Bad lawyer

I used him for a custody issue recently. He missed my hearing, and I lost the case because of it. I plan on filing a greivance against him, because he also will not refund the $1,500.00 he owes me. Now not only am I out $2,500.00 from him, I also have to start over with a new attorney. I do not recom...mend him. For your own good, do not believe any of the decent reviews on here. It's pretty fishy that they were all posted a day apart, by the way.
