Chad Davis Elsey

Chad Elsey was brought on to my 1+ year highly-contested divorce case to handle the very aggressive and complex cross-examination portions of the case. He did an amazing job in deposition of the opposing party, which took over 6 hrs. He did an amazing job at trial exposing the opposing party as "...the bad actor" that they were on the stand in front of the judge. This matrixed strategy support also allowed for a more effective and efficient approach to bring this overdue divorce to a close.

I cannot say enough positive things about my experience working with Chad Elsey. From the very first consultation, he was incredibly responsive, organized, and compassionate, while also being strategic and confident in his approach. He guided me through one of the most stressful and emotional time...s of my life and handled every aspect with precision, professionalism, and empathy. Chad was always punctual, prepared, and available to answer questions. I never once felt in the dark about what was happening or what to expect next. Consultation went great and I thought he was going to have my back. Hired, then had one five minute conversation before he filed an answer that was lacking in the things we discussed at the initial consult as well as asking for things (like a jury trial) that was never discussed or approved. He filed... my answer without conferring with me or getting my approval. Tried to get in touch multiple times. Just didn’t seem to care. Ate up my entire retainer after filing less than 1 page of an answer before we even got to the hearing I hired him for. +1 star for filing a semi coherent answer and for showing me what a good practice SHOULDN'T do. Shame on me for not seeing through the facade.

Chad Elsie was hired and did nothing but lie and manipulate everyone during the process. When he was hired, it was for filing a divorce, but he encouraged a restraining order as well. After that, he encouraged another one to charge more money, and after that, he allowed false information to be used a...nd an affidavit to be signed illegally to put yet another restraining order on the defendant, is completely unwise, and take even more money from a mother, who was being abused by her husband. He berated this woman on the stand and made her read completely defamatory , humiliating a , humiliating, and inappropriate text messages in front of everyone in court, even though the claim against her was that she was suicidal. Only a heartless, soulless person could do that to someone who is just trying to keep their head above water and get away from their abuser. I would not recommend hiring Chad if you have any kind of morals or ethical standards that you live by. Because he has none, he’ll do whatever he has to for more money. He purposely alienates parents from their children, intentionally humiliates witnesses on the stand and lies to help hide abuse that put children in danger. Chad Elsie is not the lawyer to hire if you want a person of substance. He is definitely a slimy one, hire someone else, i should have.

At the initial consult, he was very warm, welcoming, and said he was very interested in my case. He told us that when we were ready to move forward, we could call and he would be there the next day to take the retainer check and file paperwork. We were quoted a $10,000 retainer, so this took a while ...to gather, but we felt confident moving forward with him in our custody modification case. As the situation escalated, we made sure we had the money, and I reached back out to see how we could with him. A meeting was schedule for a month later, his earliest available, which is understandable. However, we arrived to the meeting and he was not there. Neither was his paralegal. We were not given so much as a courtesy phone call or email letting us know he wasn't going to be there. Another lawyer in the firm sat down with us, never introduced herself, and attempted to take our retainer check and get more information about the case from us. We were hesitant to hand over the money to anyone but Chad directly and asked to reschedule so we could meet with the actual lawyer we were hiring. We were assured that Chad's paralegal would reach out the next day to reschedule with us. This never happened. I sent an email 48 hours later following up to reschedule with his paralegal, and I never heard anything back. With my children's well being in danger, I was extremely disappointed with the lack of professionalism and inability to even return an email or phone call. I had to find another lawyer after being pushed off for an entire month already. I would be cautious in hiring him if you are in an urgent or emergent situation.
