Ray L. Vela

Mr. Vela’s practice includes a wide variety of civil litigation matters including personal injury litigation, utility damage litigation, collection litigation, construction law, creditor and consumer law cases, contract disputes, employment law cases, insurance law, intellectual property law, civil appeals, professional malpractice, real estate litigation and receiverships.  

Upon graduation from Boston University School of Law, Mr. Vela clerked for a federal judge in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas, affording him invaluable insight into the judicial system.  After his clerkship, Mr. Vela worked at one of the state’s largest insurance defense law firms where he enjoyed a busy and diverse litigation practice in the litigious hot bed of South Texas.  

Mr. Vela has represented plaintiffs and defendants from around the country in litigation matters in federal and state courts throughout Texas and in Oklahoma.  Mr. Vela has represented lenders with litigation matters in both federal and state courts throughout Texas and Oklahoma.  His practice includes, but is not limited to, foreclosure litigation, eviction appeal litigation, collection litigation, creditor and consumer law cases, contract disputes, intellectual property law, real estate litigation, construction litigation and utility damage litigation.  With his considerable litigation expertise, Mr. Vela works diligently to resolve disputes in an efficient and economically rational way always keeping the client’s interest and bottom line in mind.  While his ultimate goal is to avoid litigation, he is well-prepared to handle whatever comes his way.  He is focused in his effort to get the job completed quickly and with the best outcome for his clients.
