Stephen Sears

Steve Sears is a Frisco criminal defense attorney and former Collin County felony prosecutor. As the founder of The Sears Law Firm, Steve represents people facing DWI, assault, drug, theft, white-collar, and other criminal charges throughout Collin County and North Texas.

Before opening his firm, Steve prosecuted thousands of felony and misdemeanor cases for the Collin County District Attorney’s Office. That experience gave him firsthand knowledge of how prosecutors evaluate evidence, negotiate cases, and prepare for trial. He now uses that insight to identify weaknesses in the State’s case and build focused defense strategies for his clients.

Steve began his legal career at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, where he worked on complex litigation involving major companies. He earned his law degree from The University of Texas School of Law and has handled more than 1,000 criminal matters during his career.
