Kristi Tyler is a Collin County criminal defense lawyer and former Collin County prosecutor with nearly 100 jury trials and more than two decades of legal experience. Licensed since 2001, Kristi has handled a wide range of criminal matters from both sides of the courtroom.
As a prosecutor, Kristi served as a Misdemeanor Court Chief, Chief of Domestic Violence, and Chief of the Felony Crimes Against Children Division. She also worked in the Specialized Crime Division, where she focused on financial crimes, public integrity matters, and other complex cases.
Since leaving the District Attorney’s Office, Kristi has defended clients of all ages in criminal defense, juvenile, and CPS matters. Her experience as a former prosecutor gives her valuable insight into how the government evaluates evidence, legal issues, and trial strategy. She combines that perspective with a detail-oriented approach to developing a defense tailored to the facts and circumstances of each case.
Kristi knows that being accused of a crime can be overwhelming for clients and their families. She makes communication a priority, helping clients understand the legal process, their options, and what to expect as their case moves forward. Compassionate with clients and a determined advocate in the courtroom, Kristi works to provide both knowledgeable representation and a steady hand during difficult circumstances.
Kristi is a member of the Texas Bar College and has been named an Elite Lawyer. In 2023, she was recognized as one of the Top 100 Trial Attorneys in Criminal Law by the National Trial Lawyers Association. She earned her undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University and her law degree from the University of Texas School of Law.
