George Colby Scherer

George Scherer, founder of Scherer Legal P.C., was born in Fort Worth, Texas and has lived most of his life here in North Texas. He attended The University of Texas at Austin and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance. George worked in the financial services area before enrolling in law school. He attended Washburn University School of Law and graduated with Dean’s Honors.

While in law school, he served as a law clerk for seven (7) district court judges and completed a bankruptcy externship with the Honorable John T. Flannagan, United States Bankruptcy Judge for the District of Kansas. George also had the distinction of writing the top paper in his commercial law class.

After graduation from law school, George returned to Texas to practice law. He has practiced law in Texas since 1992. He is also licensed to practice in the United States District Courts for the Northern, Eastern, and Western Districts of Texas. He is a member of both the Denton County Bar Association and Dallas Bar Association.
