Honest Attorney

I started working with this firm about two years ago, and I just received my USPTO patent approval. I thought about trying to file a patent on my own, but I'm so glad are used the firm because there are so many complicated components to the patent process. From the very beginning the firm made f...iling for a patent easy. The firm explained the application process through a step-by-step application process that was incredibly easy to understand. When the firm was done I couldn't believe how well the firm had described my invention. Then they modified my application until the application was perfect. In the end the firm had prepared a well written patent application that was easy for the USPTO to approve. Like most patent applications, the patent office didn't approve my patent the first time, but the firm showed me how the firm was going to reply to the USPTO's concerns. The second time around my patent was approved. The prices are very reasonable and I highly recommend the firm because they walk you through the though the challenges and obstacles of the patent application, the firm offers you recommendations and suggestions that I never would have thought of. The patent office will soon give me the USPTO patent. I know that I could have never done this alone. The firm guided me every step of the way. As my invention changes, I will use them to further enhance my patent with modifications and add-ons, once again something I wouldn't have planned for without their assistance. The firm has excellent expertise with the formulation of patent claims. The firm spares no effort to explain to USPTO the most sophisticated details of the invention, and make sure the patent is allowed. The prices are reasonable. I have already received two patents through them, and I will use the firm in the future I cannot recommend these guys more highly. I even have another patent pending with them!

Excellent Attorney to Have Job Well Done

I hired Mr. Swayze to file a patent application (application# 13/238.268) for bed bug control. Mr. Swayze prepared an excellent patent application and wrote official replies at fixed service fee. For some simple actions, his fee is lower than the fixed fee. My application received rejection letters f...rom USPTO, but Mr. Swayze’s professional services make me succeed. I just received a request from USPTO to pay the patent publication fee. I am so happy for my success on this patent application because bed bugs cost Americans $450 million annually, while my invention makes all of well-known bed bug control products and services obsolete. I greatly appreciate Mr. Swayze’s contribution for my patent application. Inventor Dahai

The Best Patent/Trademark Attorney I Have Hired.

I have been working on my patent since 2009 and I hired two other law firms previously. Both of them not only failed in getting my patent approved by the USPTO examiner, but charged an exorbitant amount in the process. I hired Mr. Swayze in April or May 2015 and he immediately responded to my off...ice action with the USPTO by the deadline. He charged reasonables fee and was very knowledgeable about the USPTO process. I received my patent (Clean Screen Air Filtration System) on September 15, 2015 and now he has filed my Trademark for me. He is the best intellectual property attorney I have have ever worked with. He works in a timely manner and knows the USPTO process because he used to by an examiner at the USPTO. He has many years experience and is very detailed and precise in making sure he addresses all the examiners concerns (and trust me that is not an easy task.) He responds to my emails and phone calls in a timely manner and is always professional and pleasant. If you need a great intellectual property lawyer I would recommend Mr. Swayze. I know for a fact I will use him again. He is the best intellectual property lawyer I have worked with.

Irresponsible, Unresponsive, and Incosiderate -- Do not trust!

Seven months after having received our payment and asking for an update on our trademark being filed, he FINALLY filed it, while all the time in between acting as if he had. He failed to inform us or keep us updated on any of the process since all correspondence was sent to him and therefore our trad...emark was abandoned after giving him $625 to complete it. His responses were either unmet or untrue. He was extremely unethical and we would recommend that you not work with him. We were a little cautious about hiring an online attorney and wish we'd followed our gut on this guy. Although we are out the money, we hope that we can do someone else a favor by keeping them from losing theirs too (and possibly their trademark as well)!

Unethical, Non-Responsive, and Incompetent Scam Artist

First, let me start by saying I am not one to write reviews, especially if there is nothing positive to say. Matter of fact, this is my first time writing a negative comment regarding anyone in a public forum; however, I wholeheartedly believe the people and profession must be protected from Mr. Swa...yze as he is a predator of the worse kind. Second, allow me to validate that I have creditability with regard to intellectual property attorneys in general. Over the last 18 months the USPTO has received 19 of my patent applications and I have had the pleasure of working with multiple intellectual property attorneys over this period. Now for an objective review of Mr. Swayze, the facts follow in chronological order: 1) I hired Mr. Swayze in summer of 2010. 2) Mr. Swayze performed a prior art search and identified patents / applications for my review. 3) Mr. Swayze transmitted the results of the prior art search 13 days after his letter indicated completion of the search and ONLY after I requested a status. 4) After requesting a status on my patent application, Mr. Swayze sent me the WRONG patent application for an entirely different inventor and disclosed someone else’s invention. 5) Mr. Swayze subsequently transmitted a patent application for my invention. 6) The patent application he prepared for me was mostly PLAGIARIZED content from the identified patents / applications of the prior art search. Mostly meaning over 70% verbatim; I have evidence to prove this statement. 7) My follow up questions, comments, and concerns communicated to Mr. Swayze were NOT addressed. 8) Mr. Swayze did not rewrite my patent application and REFUSED to refund my money. 9) I hired another attorney for civil action against Mr. Swayze. 10) Other attorneys reviewing Mr. Swayze's work product and communications advised me to file complaints with the New York Bar and the USPTO Office of Enrollment and Discipline (OED). 11) Mr. Swayze claimed he spent over 52 hours working on my application under a fixed fee arrangement. 12) A seven (7) page compliant letter with 32 exhibits has been sent to both the NY Bar and the OED and an investigation is underway. 13) A civil suit is outstanding against Mr. Swayze. Currently, Mr. Swayze is under review and I expect the NY Bar and OED to take appropriate action to protect the public from him. Additionally, I anticipate a favorable outcome in court against Mr. Swayze. I only wish I could attach to this website all the evidence sent to the NY Bar / OED for the reader’s benefit. Mr. Swayze lives in Texas, but is registered as an attorney in New York. This provides a natural insulation from most people that would file a complaint. If you have been wronged by Mr. Swayze, please help to protect others by writing the NY Bar and OED: State of New York Committee on Professional Standards 40 Steuben Street Suite 502 Albany, NY 12207 OED Director USPTO PO Box 1450 Alexandria, VA 22313-1450 There are many, many great patent attorneys working throughout the nation that will charge less than Mr. Swayze’s rates and NOT plagiarize other works. If you plan to spend thousands on a patent application, first spend a few hours researching the attorney you are considering hiring. Ask for references of previous inventors and when interviewing them ask for their patent application number(s) to validate they were actually a client.
