Sonya saved me in more ways than I can count. She was my THIRD lawyer, in a case that should have been simple and straightforward, yet was anything but, due to the high conflict, gas-light loving personality of my ex. Getting him to follow even temp orders became so exhausting, and my previous repr...esentation did little to find the depth and volume of his deceptions, adding much unnecessary time and exhaustion to the discovery process, and the entire case. Sonya created more movement in my case during the first month she came on than my previous lawyers had in nearly 2 years. I was not just a number to her, I was a human being. In many professions where there is extreme emotion, intense fear, frustration- there comes a point where despite the reason one gets into the profession they chose, they must learn to disconnect to an extent- in order to be successful and effective in their career. It’s inevitable, and necessary. Unfortunately, this can make one seem dehumanized, especially in the field of law. I have no doubt that Sonya has a very successful career and reputation that will only continue to thrive in the future. And while necessary, I instinctly believe she is the Rare Breed Attorney who never disconnects more than necessary, and hangs on to that part inside her- the part that made her care as much as she did for me when no one else would, and got me through the darkest time in my entire life. Sonya went above and beyond in advocating for me multiple times, has the investigative skills of an FBI spy, and refused to relent until all the lies were flipped upside down, the hidden truths were revealed, and justice finally reached. If I had not found her, I don’t know if I could’ve gone through one more person, faced one more disappointing realization that I was merely a check to them. She was the only lawyer who actually prioritized accountability for my ex, relieving me of much stress I had been carrying for 2 years. Don’t let her sweet southern demeanor fool you into thinking she’s not a savage in the courtroom, or one to be challenged without substance. Sonya not only saved my sanity and helped me end this nightmare of a chapter in my life… but she restored my faith in humanity, and belief that some people ARE truly, inherently good, and do intensely care about justice and healing. I advocate her with more stars than are possible to give- and strongly recommend her, especially if trust is hard to earn with you, or if you have been grossly disappointed by the indifference of others. Sonya is a rare gem I was SO lucky and blessed to find. Thank God for her. It's because of her I have a chance to rebuild a new life again, and the capacity to do so.
