I began practicing law in 1999. I received both my Juris Doctor from the Washington College of Law and my Master’s degree in International Affairs from American University in Washington, DC. My passion for immigration law was solidified during my service as a 3rd year law student in the International Human Rights Law Clinic during law school. I had the privilege of representing clients in asylum matters before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals and in human rights violation cases. I witnessed first hand the emotional trauma a client can experience navigatiing through the immmigration process. I knew immigration law was where I could best utilize my skills and abilities.
I completed the Loyola University School of Law Study Abroad Immigration Law and Spanish Language Program in Cuernavaca, Mexico during law school. I was employed by the former Immigration and Naturalization Service (currently USCIS) and the Department of State early in my career. I have since practiced immigration law in boutique and large law firms. I value the contributions of immigrants to our country including those in my own family. I attribute my success to my strategic prowess and genuine concern for the clients and families I serve.
