Get a new passport with your correct name.
Unrelated part time job with EAD (I-140 &I-485 pending) within current F1 status may be a ground for my I-485 denial?

I think you can work. Although it's safest to do so in your field of study.

You can only lawfully study on an F1. You cannot work.

My wife's passport expired 20 days ago and so as her i-94. she got a new passport but we didn't realize about her i94 extension.

You can travel as long as you take the extension letter and do so before the extension expires

They must get advanced parole before they travel or they will abandon their adjustment applications. No need to apply for EAD if your wife won't work
