I have a B1/B2 USA visa . To change my status to R1, is it better for me to remain in USA, or to be out of USA?

it does not matter but I would stay in the USA and change status here as there are avenues to appeal a denial in the USA

You can sponsor them at the same time but it is separate applications for each and you should earn sufficient income for the affidavit of support. ...

You can transfer ot employer Y but I would wait for approval of the H first.
