OUTCOME: Jury ruled infavor of Client and refused to take jurisdiction

I represented a mother in a shaken baby and Medical neglect case. The standard is one of clear and convincing. It is a lower standard then reasonable doubt. This was a very difficult case as the prosec ... utor, the child's attorney and one of the father's attorney was against me. I aggressively represented the mother and it went to trial. The success rate for the prosecutor in tried neglect and abuse cases is about 99%. After a 4 or 5 day trial the jury came back in favor of the mother and she got her child back.

OUTCOME: Not Guilty

I represented a client who was charged with Home Invasion 1st Degree that went to trial, twice. The first time resulted in a hung jury 11-1 to convict. The case was then tried a second time about 4 wee ... ks later, which usually weighs in favor of the prosecutor. I aggressively represented the defendant in both trials even though after the first trial he asked the court for a different attorney. I did not let his frustration of a hung jury to effect the way I represented him. In the second trial the jury came back not guilty even though there were two eyewitnesses that claimed it was my client. I was able to use my trial skills to totally discredit the witnesses.

I represented a father who wanted joint custody of his minor son. He lived in a rural area of Michigan that has never given joint custody in a contested matter to a father. I aggressively represented h ... is interest and refused to settle or talk my client into something less, even though the Friend of the Court told me that I will never get joint custody in that county. After several contested days of hearings my client was awarded joint custody.
