My few tips that I have learned from this: 1) be open & honest & tell your attorney everything. The more she knows, the more it helps. 2). Once you are threatened/harassed/stalked then report it immediately. I waited & they kept wondering why I didn't report everything when it occurred. It was hard for me to report it because I didn't know what he would do. I thought maybe that it wasn't as bad as it was. It's all confusing at a very confusing time & situations. You don't want to get that person in trouble. 3). Hire an attorney to help guide you during this very stressful time. It's very nerve racking & having an attorney by your side to present your case takes a huge burden off & eases your mind. I had a friend who filed for a restraining order against her soon to be ex-husband. She was granted a temporary restraining order, but the day of court she went but didn't go in because she was intimidated. Therefore, I strongly suggest hiring an attorney & Allyson is the perfect attorney.
