Not recommended

Things seemed to be mostly ok with my case before I went to court, other than mild reluctance to answer the phone promptly. He stopped answering my calls, emails, and texts a few weeks before my case was discharged. After my case was closed, I learned that he never filed a mortgage reaffirmation as I... had requested. Now, nearly a year later, and thanks to some extra money from government stimulus checks, I finally had the money to reopen my case. I learned through my mortgage company that Mr. Van Es is no longer practicing. It was completely unprofessional of him to cut me off without explanation. He added a lot of unnecessary time, money, and stress to an already difficult time in my life.

Great Work

He did a great job with my case and stayed in touch with me throughout the whole process

Very Poor Customer Service But Knowledgeable

Based on my experience of having been stood up for a scheduled appointment, learned of papers that were filed late, and been ignored despite multiple phone calls and emails that I made, my opinion is that this attorney seems to know how to help a client but all too often chooses not to. My case was... not important enough. I will not use his services again.

Discredit to the profession

No communication after month 1. Decided to not make ammendments to our petition after having 5 weeks to do it in. Showed up to court after canceling once, and continuing another time with nothing. Horrible lawyer. Dishonest, unprofessional, seek a lawyer elsewhere. Ultimately we terminated him before... our case was finished

Avoid like the plague

My wife and her sister hired Todd Vanes aka " Todd Van Es" to see to my mother-in-laws estate. He told us it was a routine thing pretty standard. Quoted a flat rate said he'd get started right away. We paid a downpayment. Three weeks later after ignoring some communications he did what he said would ...be done at the end of the first week. Then he was paid the entire amount he quoted for the case. Later he talked like he was going to charge more money. He was inactive a lot. Blamed others for his short comings. Made us miss a closing date. Just one big headache after another. In the end they hired another attorney. Don't know if they will get any of their money back. Please if you need a lawyer get one that at least has an office. If they are like Todd you'll need a place to pin him down.
