Big promises, incompetent work.

I hired this Makenzie back in 2018 to represent myself in a child custody case. Our initial consultation she had a very “rah rah, go get them attitude.” After that things went south, attempts at communication went unanswered, and I found myself explaining everything over and over when I did get a res...ponse. She made bold claims about things that had no legal substance in order to bolster my confidence in her, and then later on when I questioned her about what was going on with such and such matter she would play it off like she had changed her mind, or decided that it wouldn’t work. All of this while charging a premium of $250 per hr, top dollar in NWA for the time. I eventually relieved her of my case and went with a more experienced attorney. When my new attorney took on the case things got so much better. New attorney could not believe the level of incompetence that had been shown, and how bad my case was looking solely because of bad counsel. I was told by new counsel that I would have walked out with joint custody very easily if my case had not been handled so poorly. However we were able to salvage the situation and get a very favorable visitation schedule. But it took five years to gain primary custody and right so many wrongs that could have been avoided with the right representation. So people, get good representation. This attorney isn’t good representation.

All bark no bite

Hired this attorney based upon her bulldog type of attitude about how she would address the case at hand, but when we got to court she became a soft little puppy. She seemed to be having fun chatting and chopping it up with her opposing attorney and never really got it together during the hearings. ...I did a substantial amount of the fact gathering, timelines, and even evidence preparing, but still got charged full price. In the end, didn't get the kids back and was out thousands of dollars. Do not hire this attorney if you are looking for a dog in court to fight for what you really need.
