We hired Candice to close our mother's probate. During the consultation she was nice and eager to help. We were given an estimate of about $3000.00 to close the probate. We understood this was only an estimate but based on normal probate cases without assets we felt this would be about it. We wer...e billed 12 hours JUST to draft the petition. This doesn't include edits and filing. JUST the petition took all the retainer. Month one and our bill was up to $6,300.00 which we didn't receive until 12 days AFTER the end of the month. We were floored. No one at Progeny communicated with us on the billing. There was no way we would be finished by month two, so we had to terminate her services and proceed representing ourselves. By the time we parted ways we had an unfinished probate and $8,000.00 attorney fee on an estate without assets. Candice is nice. Progeny is nice. But they will milk your bill, so you need to watch your bill very closely. You should ask questions along the way and take notes on "what will this service cost?". You need to insist that you only have this much money to spend [period] and give them the option to accept you as a client. I cannot recommend them, but you can do what you want. Good Luck.
