Jeffrey Martin Swann

Mypractice is focused on civil litigation, with an emphasis on Oil & Gas Law, Construction and Design Law, and Transportation Law. 

In state and federal trial courts, I have litigated casualty and cargo claims, construction defect claims, mineral lease and royalty disputes, commercial contract liability cases, product liability claims, premises liability claims, corporate shareholder disputes, quiet title actions, and toxic tort cases, among others.  My recent litigation experience includes obtaining summary judgment in favor of an oil and gas operator in a natural gas royalty case, successfully defeating certification in a natural gas royalty class action, and being a part of a trial team that was awarded a defense verdict in favor of oil and gas operator in a case regarding implied covenants within oil and gas leases.  I am a graduate of the American Board of Trial Advocate's National Trial College at Harvard Law School.

My recent transaction experience includes representing real estate holding companies in the acquisition and divestiture of commercial and residential investment properties, acting as local counsel for the mortgagor in the closing of a $150M construction financing arrangement, and advising individual shareholders in the sale of their closely-held businesses.

My administrative law experience includes representation before regulatory bodies, including the U.S. Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, U.S. Occupational Health & Safety Administration, U.S. Department of Transportation Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration, Arkansas Oil & Gas Commission, Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality, and Arkansas Pollution Control and Ecology Commission. 

I joined PPGMR Law as an attorney in 2011 and is admitted to the bar in Arkansas and the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Arkansas.  I am a graduate of Little Rock Catholic High School and the University of Mississippi, where I obtained a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 2007.  After spending some time as a Mechanical Engineer in the aviation industry, I attended law school at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law, where I received my J.D. in 2011.
