Jason Johnson review

I would not use him again. I was sent to him because the attorney I originally went to felt that he was overqualified for such a simple case and Mr Johnson would 'be more reasonable' as far as cost. He was supposed to try to get back property I left for one night at a former friends house, things ...I lent to her and she refused to return, and $1,800.00 I lent to her and have the cancelled check. He has basically written 2 letters and I have paid him $4,000. I just received a bill for another $2,000. I have yet to see the inside of a courtroom and have not been able to tell my side of the story to anyone. The person returned part of the property of their own accord but not all of it and refuse to pay back the money. I need that money but it is just crazy to spend $6,000 to get back $1,800. I don't feel that he did an adequate job and he charged way too much. Apparently the charges are still accruing. $200 to make a phone call!! He told me if we didn't go to trial I would get money back. We haven't and I owe more. He also told me I would get more bang for the buck from him but I sure don't see it! The opposing person has been able to voice her opinion twice in response to his letters but I have not. I feel like I would have been better off filing a claim myself in small claims court. At least I would have been able to tell the Judge what happened., This has been going on for at least 6 months or more. By the time I go to court, i'll be broke! I think he should have filed to have them pay my attorney fees and filed theft charges with the DA's office rather than 'request' my things be returned. I will post another review when this is all finished.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
