I had to hire a new lawyer quickly after firing my last one on a heartbreaking guardianship battle with my parents over my son, and David was literally the only person available at such short notice. David took a little more time than I was comfortable with to really start understanding the family d...ynamics situation as it truly was, but once he really grasped what the truth was, he fought hard for me and my little man and did an amazing job in a court setting. He knows how to hammer home the right questions and he isn't afraid to call a spade a spade. David truly gave me hope in a hopeless situation, and without him, I don't know where I'd be today. (Maybe dead of heartbreak, honestly). He works with integrity--which lawyers are not always known for; and David didn't charge me excessive rates--honestly, he's probably not expensive enough. I highly recommend.

David Hawkey will take your money but you certainly can NOT depend on him to do his job. He proved totally incompetent and careless in handling my case . He missed deadlines for legal filings and cost me a default judgement in a case where there was absolutely no proof of my accused wrongdoing as a t...enant. When you don't cause a leak in a concrete foundation of an old building during remodeling.. as you never breached walls flooring or ceilings just did cosmetic painting sheetrock and floor polishing and the accusing attorney/landlord doesn't even know where the leak was located in the multi tenant building and Mr Hawkey can't or won't free you of such liability ..that pretty much says it all. I've spent thousands without ever having my day or opportunity to present the facts in court and today my case remains in appeal. Though I filed a complaint against Mr Hawkey , to this day Mr. Hawkey has not even been given a slap on the hand and certainly hasn't offered to pay me the default judgement. His incompetence and bad business practices has cost me about $ 14 k. Also, my requests regarding whether he carries malpractice insurance have of course gone ignored. So, my advice is never ever put your trust nor money in this so called 5 star attorney. There could never be such false representation for deserved rating. Beware.
