Custody

Janie was great. She was prompt, direct, and straight forward. I would definitely recommend her when it comes to any custody battle needs or concerns. She is patient and easy to get in touch with. Her paralegal Jerri is just as informative and can help with stuff when Janie is busy at that moment.

She's a rockstar, down to earth, and not one bit greedy!

She done me great, treated me with respect, didn't judge me nor did she ask for more money. Now I'm using her for 2 more cases and will always use Janie if at all possible due to my move out of state. We need more attorney's like Janie Evins.

Life-Saver!

Janie treated me with respect and courtesy the entire time. My ex-wife had hired an attorney who tried to make me feel like an idiot and who wrote the complaint for divorce in a way that jeopardized my career by insinuating that I had committed adultery (which could prevent me from being hired by fir...ms or institutions with a moral turpitude clause). Janie helped me by filing a rebuttal to the complaint and re-writing the divorce agreement so that I was not disadvantage. She also performed additional research that protected me against further abuse by my ex-wife and her attorney. She performed all of these services at a very, very reasonable rate and allowed me to pay that fee over time. Since, I have recommended Janie to two of my friends dealing with child custody issues; both of them have had extremely positive results. Janie communicated by e-mail in a timely manner and handled our cases all out of court and quickly.

Do not hire! If you do, you will be so sorry!!

I hired this attorney to file a divorce for me. She cashed my check for the retainer right away, but then did absolutely nothing legally to help me proceed with the divorce. She put me off repeatedly with promises that she was "working on it", and other excuses. After two months of this, and almost n...o return of phone calls, and absolutely NO action to proceed with the divorce (which she hadn't even filed), I decided to fire her and hire new counsel. I wrote her a letter and told her I was terminating her services and that I needed a return of my retainer immediately. She did not respond. So I wrote another letter with the same content three weeks later, and sent it certified mail, and told her if she did not respond by such and such date I would have no choice but to report her for her unethical behavior. Then and only then did she return my retainer. She did write a very kind letter in response, but her actions were atrocious and completely unprofessional. I found out later that she had at least two ethics violations against her in the past. I would have saved myself a lot of heartache if I would have never hired her in the first place. I have heard many stories about her ever since. She has a very bad reputation, and all of my neighbors had bad opinions of her because of her lack of professionalism and past history of ethics violations. I also met a teacher whose divorce she never took care of until the lady went to her office repeatedly to make her proceed, and she said even then it took Janie forever to get anything done. Please save yourself a tremendous amount of heart ache and stress and never hire this attorney.
