Hired attorney

My husband and I went in together after hiring him. And everything was fine….until I spoke. He was very friendly with my husband as they discussed the situation. However, he had no time for anything I had to say. He's very misogynistic and rude. I’ve never experienced a man who seems to dislike women... to the point he wouldn’t speak to me…even after the nearly $10k payment. Now, if I’d have been rude or something like that I would understand but that wasn’t the case.

Not a good lawyer

He might be a good ambulance chaser lawyer but not a good divorce lawyer. He started out all "gung ho" and "you have a strong case, we got this you'll come out fine", but once he got the money, he did a 180. One example is in the beginning he said "Do you have retirement and does she have retirement?..." I said yes and he said "then you don't have to worry about that she won't go after it since you could go after hers" after he got my money he said "well if you had it while you were married you'll have to give her half even though she has retirement too, but you can't touch hers." He constantly rushed me for answers and responses while being slow to respond and refused to push the opposing council to respond in a timely manner because the opposing council was busy. He pushed back on me (his client) far more than he pushed back on the opposing party, and many times I questioned whether he was working in my interest or the opposing party. When he would send me documents to sign he would say I need these ASAP, but would take days to respond after I read it and found significant errors and items in direct conflict to what was discussed. When I pointed our something was not addressed at all and said Please address it, this is what I would like, he got mad at me and accused me of constantly changing/moving the target. He padded the bills to make sure not to return any prepaid money (billed 2hours for a phone call that lasted less than 5minutes). Whenever the opposing party denied visitation in direct conflict with the temporary agreement he refused to do anything, but when the opposing party asked for a child support amount (that I had not seen, much less agreed to) he said you better pay it because it's in the agreement that the opposing party proposed. Again I hadn't seen the amount prior, and certainly not agreed to it. When I asked him to where/how they came up with that amount, he said look it up and hung up with me and then told me "don't contact me again, I'll let you know when I need you" Your best bet is to hope that your opposing party hires him, which would guarantee you a win

Demeaning and slow to respond

At first, Mr. Price seemed very enthusiastic about my case and was always available to talk with me. I wasn’t ever one to call him; I basically sat back and let him do his job and didn’t want to be a bother and expected him to call me when he needed anything. For the first two years on my case, that’...s how it went. Then, he called me in for a meeting and tells me he would most likely have my case wrapped up by the end of the month! Of course I was glad and for some reason I believed him. It took another two years after that meeting to actually complete the lawsuit. And during that time, when I did call I would have to wait weeks for a return call. It was all a very slow and drug out process, and I don’t have a clue why he told me he would have everything wrapped up within a month with all the steps left I later knew had to be completed. I felt like he never really grasped all the aspects to my case, either. (Or else he just dismissed my suggestions without fully understanding how trivial some aspects were in building a deeper case) He seemed to have taken one problem and ran with it, when really there were numerous substantial issues that led to me needing to file a lawsuit, but he wouldn’t listen. Also, his overall attitude was very demeaning. I am a college educated well-traveled person, but my father is older, and has led a more simple life, and I never liked the way he spoke to him, like he was a child basically!
