Mr. Adams has been a Louisiana native for his entire life. Mr. Adams grew up in Marthaville, Louisiana, in rural Natchitoches Parish with four brothers, a mother who was a homemaker, and a father who was a small business owner. His parents instilled in him a hard work ethic that he has carried with him into his law practice.
Mr. Adams graduated from Natchitoches Central High School in Natchitoches, Louisiana, as class valedictorian. Following high school, Mr. Adams graduated from Northwestern State University of Louisiana with a degree in mathematics with summa cum laude honors, the highest academic honor one can receive at a college graduation. Following university, he attended the Louisiana State University Law Center and graduated with a Juris Doctor degree and a Diploma in Comparative Law in 2015.
During his time in law school, he academically excelled in criminal and constitutional law classes, earning CALI awards for highest grades in Advanced Topics in Criminal Law, Sentencing Law, and Corporate & White Collar Crime Law. While in law school, Mr. Adams participated in the Louisiana State University Prosecution Clinic, in which he worked as a Special Assistant District Attorney for Hillar Moore, the District Attorney for East Baton Rouge Parish. While in the clinic, he received intensive instruction in criminal prosecution techniques and assisted in the prosecution of misdemeanors and felonies. Spending over two years working with the East Baton Rouge Parish District Attorney’s Office as a law clerk and Special Assistant District Attorney, he was introduced to courtroom procedure, refined his legal research skills, helped prosecutors prepare criminal cases, processed criminal evidence, and assisted with numerous trials. In addition to obtaining criminal prosecution experience, he developed good working relationships with many of the prosecutors in the office, and those relationships have proven invaluable.
After law school and his time as a Special Assistant District Attorney, Mr. Adams was offered a job as an associate attorney with the well-known criminal defense law firm of Damico & Stockstill in Baton Rouge, LA, where he practiced for over two years. While practicing in south Louisiana, he learned from two of the most reputable and experienced criminal defense attorneys in Louisiana.
Following his time with the firm of Damico & Stockstill, Mr. Adams decided to return to northwest Louisiana to be closer to his roots and family. Upon his return, he worked as an associate attorney with the law firm of Elton B. Richey & Associates, LLC, a highly respected criminal defense and personal injury law firm in Shreveport, Louisiana. While working with the firm for over a year, Mr. Adams further refined his legal skills and developed a strong reputation as a legal advocate in northwest Louisiana. Upon his boss’s retirement, Mr. Adams decided that it was time to open his own law firm to serve his community and created Law Offices of Philip B. Adams, LLC.
Mr. Adams practices in the areas of criminal defense and personal injury law. In criminal defense, he has extensive experience in trials, appeals, and post-conviction proceedings in a broad range of criminal cases. Furthermore, he has broad experience in handling expungements to help clients clear their criminal records. Mr. Adams has successfully handled sex offender registration issues. Mr. Adams has defended against, and prosecuted, protective orders on behalf of clients. Mr. Adams is passionate about the work that he does in defending clients and strives to give clients the best representation that he can. Believing that all Americans are entitled to the fullest protections of the Constitution and law, he vigorously works to defend clients through complete investigation of the factual issues in every case, through legal research, through motion filing, and through negotiations or trials when appropriate.
In personal injury representation, Mr. Adams works hard to make clients whole and help them get deserved compensation for the injuries that they sustain. Often, at-fault drivers and insurance companies will fight to diminish how much compensation they provide to injury victims, and Mr. Adams understands how to handle such situations. Mr. Adams has secured numerous successful settlements in injury cases for clients—cases that range from small values to seven figures.
Mr. Adams is comfortable in a courtroom and is strategic about interacting with judges and opposing counsel to obtain superb results on behalf of clients. Regardless of what the issues are, he maintains open and honest communication with clients and delivers strong representation to help them get through often difficult circumstances.
In his spare time, he enjoys reading, being in the outdoors, running, calisthenics, volunteering in the community, and spending time with family and friends.

"I endorse this lawyer. Phillip works very hard, is highly intelligent, and knows how to get the best results. He quickly separates the critical information from the mess he's often presented with and formulates a plan toward success - then he accomplishes it. He is well connected, leverages his resources for his clients' benefit and never stops working the case. If me or someone I know got in trouble in La., he'd be my first call."
"Mr. Adams is a competent and professional defense attorney. He always does a great job of advocating for his clients and he has a strong understanding of criminal law. I endorse this attorney."
