Fred H Sutherland

Fred Sutherland received his Juries Doctorate Degree in 1971 from Louisiana State University, and was later inducted into the L.S.U. Law Center Hall of Fame in 1987. While at L.S.U., he joined the Order of the Coif, pledged Omicron Delta Kappa, and served as an Associate Editor of the Louisiana Review.  

Prior to establishing his own law practice, Mr. Sutherland served as a partner in two prominent Shreveport, Louisiana law firms, as well as serving as an United States Air Force active-duty litigation staff attorney for the Exxon Corporation.

Mr. Sutherland is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court; the U.S. Court of Appeals, Fifth and Eleventh Circuits, and the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern, Western, and Middle Districts of Louisiana. His hard work and experience has been recognized by his peers in the legal community, who gave him an “A” rating in the Martindale Hubbell Legal Directory. This is the highest rating a firm can receive for its legal ability and ethical standards. 

Mr. Sutherland has served as both a member of the Louisiana State bar Admissions Committee and Board of Directors and Chairman of Nothwest Legal Services, Inc.  He is also a member of the Shreveport Louisiana and American Bar Associations; Louisiana Association for Justice; American Association for Justice; The Louisiana National Education Law, and The National School Board’s Association (Council of School Attorney).
