OUTCOME: Case dismissed by prosecutor.

Client arrested adjacent to Southern University campus during Homecoming week during an on foot patrol. Client had a loaded .45 caliber pistol, with a round chambered, tucked into his waist band parti ... ally concealed. The police arrested him for illegal carrying of a weapon. Client was not eligible for PTI. I was able to aggressively handle the case and the ADA agreed to dismiss the case in exchange for forfeiting the gun and $250 in costs of prosecution. Case dismissed.

Client arrested for major felony of Possession with intent to Distribute Marijuana. I convinced the DA office to allow him a second chance and admission into the Pretrial diversion program. Client acc ... epted and completed the program and all charges dismissed and he kept his clean record.

OUTCOME: Case dismissed by prosecutor after completion of special conditions.

Client arrested for starting a fist fight at her high school with another student and then battery on a teacher who was trying to break up the fight between the two students. Investigated the case aft ... er client came to our office and visited the school to review the videotape which showed another side to this event. I was able to meet again with the school officials after another review of the event and the days leading up to it. I was able to maintain our client's student status and convince the ADA to dismiss formal charges after our client completed an anger management course, did 20 hours community service and paid a $50 costs of prosecution fee.

Client arrested for multiple felony counts of obtaining drugs by fraud. Worked with client to intervene early and provide the district attorney's office with proof of drug treatment and other mitigati ... on materials. Prosecutor allowed client to enter the pre-trial diversion program and case was dismissed without any conviction after client completed the PTI program successfully.

Client was arrested on 6 counts of felony obtaining drugs by fraud. She had been a dental assistant for over 15 years and was also married with 3 children. Unfortunately, she also had been captured b ... y a devilish addiction. I approached the ADA with a treatment plan and a comprehensive mitigation package for our client. Even though these were felony drug charges, the ADA decided to take a chance on her and allowed her to enter the pretrial program. Client completed it successfully and the felony cases were dismissed.

OUTCOME: All charges reduced to a single misdemeanor and client sentenced to probation and case dismissed that same day.

I was in court, like I am most every day, filing various motions and pulling court files on an upcoming murder case, and the law clerk with Judge White's office tracked me down in the courthouse and as ... ked me to help this this young man in crisis. The client was charged with two counts of forgery in one case and possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, no insurance, driving under suspension, and running a stop sign in another. The client was trying to leave for AFRICA the next week to join a medical relief mission and could not leave unless all his legal business was concluded. I spent the rest of the day doing all I could to convince the prosecutor to the reduce the charges to a single misdemeanor and for the judge to issue a probated sentence retroactive to the date of arrest and to dismiss the case under La. C.Cr.P. article 894. Fortunately, I was able to accomplish all of this with the understanding and mercy of both the prosecutor and the judge. Client then left for Africa to join the mission and also entered into drug treatment.

Client was investigated for a sex crime concerning improper video and text messages with a juvenile he was at school with and I was able to intervene with law enforcement officers and persuade them tha ... t an arrest in this matter had several flaws in it despite the complainant's story. This took a vigorous effort to defend due to the nature of the allegation and the parties involved, and my client and his parents were pleased we could avoid an arrest.

Client arrested and charged with armed robbery. Client was a very young man who had not been in trouble before and had been "going along with the crowd" and I worked to convince the prosecutor of his ... true character over the course of a long and protracted prosecution. Client cooperated by staying out of trouble, working and getting his school situation straight. Although this was a protracted process, I was able to work to obtain a complete dismissal through my client's participation and the prosecutor's faith in our efforts. Client was arrested on 2/24/11 and the case was dismissed on 8/21/14.

OUTCOME: Case reduced down to misdemeanor and 1 year probation with $150 fine

Client arrested for Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Felony Possession of a Stolen Firearm and had a very bad record in his youth. Client had not been on any supervision in 7 years, but that didn' ... t stop the ADA from wanting to light up our client. The first offer was 10 years on the firearm and 5 years on the DV case, concurrent with one another. We presented significant mitigation to the ADA and then all the way up to the DA and attacked the facts of the criminal investigation. The ADA began to re-consider her offer and she went down to 5 years and 2.5, concurrent. We continued to show our client's position both in the areas of his Constitutional rights and in fairness (equity) and finally convinced the ADA to reduce the matter to a misdemeanor, 1 year probation and $150 fine.
