Ms. Loos is the founder of Katherine M. Loos, LLC. For 27 years she was a partner in the Lafayette firm of Briney & Foret where she had a full-time litigation practice. She has extensive litigation experience in both state and federal courts throughout Louisiana and in Texas. She has been involved in the successful resolution of many kinds of disputes including mass torts, complex multi-party litigation, toxic torts, products liability, premises liability, construction defects, automobile liability, insurance, and workers' compensation. She has represented both plaintiffs and defendants and has tried a wide variety of cases with successful outcomes. Ms. Loos has been the trial attorney in dozens of cases before judges and juries. She also has extensive appellate court experience.
Ms. Loos is a mediator with Perry Dampf Dispute Solutions and has mediated over 100 cases. Her years of experience as an accomplished litigator, along with her natural ability to connect with people, enable her to achieve settlements in the vast majority of her mediations. The cases she has successfully resolved include, but are not limited to, serious personal injuries, wrongful death, complex litigation, business litigation, construction litigation and property damage. She conducts mediation seminars and training for various claims associations and business groups.
