Maureen J Shanahan

Michael Totaro and Maureen J. Shanahan were partners in a law firm that I retained for legal representation. I paid them $15,000 for services to be performed in my case. Despite receiving payment, they failed to file required court documents in a timely manner and did not adequately respond to cou...rt filings. As a result of these failures, my case was dismissed. Approximately four years ago, Michael Totaro and Maureen J. Shanahan acknowledged their failure to perform the agreed legal services and promised to refund $15,000 to me. To date, no repayment has been made, in whole or in part. Subsequently, Maureen J. Shanahan assisted her law partner, Michael Totaro, in filing a personal Chapter 11 bankruptcy petition. I was not listed as a creditor, and my claim was not disclosed to the bankruptcy court, despite their prior acknowledgment of the debt owed to me. There are currently two pending complaints involving Michael Totaro and Maureen J. Shanahan before the California State Bar related to their conduct.
