I have been an exemplary member of the legal community for almost 30 years:
Education and Legal Experience
I have practiced law for almost 30 years in the areas of environmental and commercial litigation. I was a director of the Litigation Section at the law firm McGlinchey Stafford, PLC, before becoming the founding and managing partner at the AV-rated firm of Rodney, Bordenave, Boykin, Bennette & Boyle, which became one of the most diverse law firms in the United States. I currently practice with the law firm of Rodney & Etter, LLC, which focuses on state and federal civil rights litigation, toxic tort class actions, businesd matters, and intellectual property.
Involvement in the Legal Community
Throughout my legal career, I have exhibited a commitment to pro bono work, civil rights, issues of public health and justice, and the legal community in general. My pro bono practice has focused on voting rights and community injustice. I have also been actively involved with a number of bar associations and committees throughout my legal career. I have represented individuals and Fortune 500 corporations.
My commitment to the legal profession has also earned me a number of honors and awards for my work, including:

Greater New Orleans Louis A. Martinet Legal Society, Inc.’s Louis A. Martinet Award
National Bar Association’s Presidential Award (3 times)

I've worked with Roy on a handful of projects since Summer 2014, and have been consistently impressed with his kindness, his insight, and his willingness (insistence! might be a better word, really) to help a small businessman with the same intensity he brings to his higher profile clients. Mr. Rodney has done an excellent job for me. Agressive but not abrasive, creative, out of box ideas. Supported with strong, broad case research

"Roy is a very knowledgeable and skilled litigator and appellate attorney, who has practiced in New Orleans for more than 30 years. Roy has represented a wide range of clients from individual musicians and small business owners to Fortune 100 businesses and government agencies."
"Roy is a tireless litigator who advocates effectively and creatively on behalf of his clients on a wide-range of matters."

Suspension with Probation issued in LA, 2008
updated on 01/25/2016This type of suspension means an attorney lost his or her license to practice law for a period of time, and must meet State ordered requirements. While on probation, the State monitors the lawyer's activities in hopes that he or she will not repeat the behavior.
“I was given a brief suspension for filing my taxes late one year. I believe my prosecution and suspension for this misdemeanor has been unduly harsh. I have hired counsel to help clear my name.”
