B Watson Legal, LLC was founded by Attorney Pascale B. Watson. Attorney Watson has maintained a lifelong interest in public service, community commitments, and equal rights and opportunities for all. Attorney Watson earned her high school diploma from the Louisiana School for Math, Science, and Arts. Attorney Watson then earned a liberal arts degree from Wellesley College where she majored in International Relations, minored in Economics, with a language emphasis in Spanish. While at Wellesley, Attorney Watson was actively involved in student activity life, serving as an officer of various student government committees.
During college, Attorney Watson also became a member of the national community service organization, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. After working for two years at Putnam Investments in the Boston area, Attorney Watson pursued a graduate degree in public policy from the LBJ School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin.
Subsequent to earning a Masters in Public Affairs, Attorney Watson pursued a law degree from Paul M Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. During law school, Attorney Watson clerked for the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office and also spent one summer clerking at the juvenile court in Toledo, OH. While clerking in Toledo, Attorney Watson began working on children’s rights issues which included child welfare, children in need of services, and education. Attorney Watson also worked as a student attorney for the Baton Rouge Juvenile Court, which was a component of the Juvenile Law Clinic at LSU Law School.
After graduating from law school, Attorney Watson moved to Tampa, FL to begin working as a criminal defense attorney for the Law Office of Julianne M. Holt. Attorney Watson took and passed the Florida Bar in July 2007. After getting engaged to the love of her life, Attorney Watson decided to move back to Louisiana to be close to her family, which also included new step-children! After taking and passing the Louisiana Bar in February 2008, Attorney Watson began working as a contract attorney. She continued working in criminal defense and expanded her work into civil litigation, estate planning and foreclosure defense.
In February 2009, Attorney Watson accepted a new position working as a staff attorney for Juvenile Regional Services. While working at Juvenile Regional Services, Attorney Watson became professionally engaged in all aspects of her clients’ lives, which as a juvenile defense attorney, is nearly impossible to avoid. Attorney Watson gained valuable experience in providing strong and effective representation to her clients. Attorney Watson’s representation of her clients extended to writing several successful appeals and emergency writs to the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals in Louisiana as well as some to the Louisiana Supreme Court.
After leaving Juvenile Regional Services in April 2011, Attorney Watson expanded her civil work by gaining valuable experience in class action litigation. Attorney Watson worked as an associate at the firm, Fayard & Honeycutt. Attorney Watson worked on the Plaintiff side of class action litigation against entities which were responsible for two of the biggest recent tragedies in Louisiana: the B.P./Deepwater Horizon litigation as well as the final case of the Katrina Levee Failure/MRGO case.
Having professionally witnessed the lack of available resources in the face of rising costs of living facing consumers, Attorney Watson has committed to advocating for and finding solutions for Louisianians just trying to make ends meet.
