Scum
He will gladly take your retainer do little to no work on your case then once the court date comes he won’t even show up. He has zero compassion and seems like he doesn’t know criminal law at all.
This individual was charged with 4 criminal charges for which he had no defense. I took a very small retainer compared with what others charge in this area. I was able to get the county attn. to drop 3 of the charges, and he was set to enter a plea, and be sentenced on the 1 charge. This hearing would have been less than 30 mins, and his case would have been completed. It is true, I was unable to attend the plea/sentencing. I had to be in a different county for another case. I had my partner with 34 years of nothing but criminal defense experience lined up to handle the hearing. The client was notified, and had no problem with my partner handling the case. Unfortunately, my partner made a mistake on the time, and missed the hearing. The hearing was rescheduled. I apologized for our mistake, but the client was angry my partner missed the hearing, and fired me. He wanted 80% of his retainer returned after 90% of the work had been done. I immediately returned more than enough of the retainer for the client to pay a new attorney to cover his plea/sentencing. Despite my efforts to rectify the situation, the client was not happy, and posted his anonymous comments. I am sorry for the confusion on his hearing, and wish him the best with his new attorney.
