OUTCOME: Not Guilty on All Charges
Client was a concealed carry permit holder in Virginia, and was attacked. After defending himself using lawful force, client was, as we see frequently, arrested for defending himself and charged with ... several crimes. After investigation, it was clear that the use of force was lawful, and that the police conducted a deficient investigation. The client was found not guilty at trial of all charges.
OUTCOME: All Felony Charges Dismissed
Client, a concealed carry pistol licensee from another state, was passing through Baltimore on I-95. When he took a break from driving, he was attacked and used his firearm to defend himself, discharg ... ing the weapon once, and successfully ending the attack. Unfortunately, as is frequently the case in Maryland, he was the one arrested and charged with multiple felony offenses, and held without bail in jail for an entire week. We were hired to defend him, with an excellent result. In exchange for pleading guilty to a city ordinance, all felony charges were dropped, and the client avoided up to 15 years in Maryland prison.
OUTCOME: All Charges Dismissed
Client, a retired warrant officer with 30+ years of service in the U.S. Army, including multiple combat tours overseas, held a concealed carry pistol permit in his home state. He made the mistake of w ... earing his pistol in the District of Columbia, one of the most hostile jurisdictions to the right to bear arms. After spending a night in jail with no bail, and facing years of prison, including a mandatory minimum sentence, we were hired to defend him. After strong advocacy, charges against the client were dismissed in their entirety, and the client was able to return to his family and home state.
OUTCOME: Orphan's Court for the City of Baltimore ordered the Estate to reimburse client for tens of thousands of dollars in taxes.
Beneficiary was directed to pay tens of thousands in inheritance taxes to the State of Maryland, despite the Will directing the taxes to be paid by the Estate. Filed suit against the Personal Represen ... tative to have the taxes paid by the Estate.
OUTCOME: Domestic Violence Order issued by the District Court of Maryland
Wife was subject to domestic violence, in a high stakes case involving professionals, one of whom held a security clearance. Hired to assist client in obtaining divorce, as well as to obtain a domesti ... c violence peace order to remove husband from the home.
