Emilee Lynn Higgins

Lawyer fails to communicate or prepare for family law cases. Seems to be too focused on other things then providing clients with information they can use to make decisions. Fails to respond to questions if there is a response at all. Only when something is pertinent to her to know will she be better ...at communication and don't expect your questions to be answered if they are not on topic with what she wants. Be prepared to leave lots of messages on the phone.

Ms. Higgins represented us in a family law case. I cannot express our gratitude enough. She was always so honest with us about what was happening and what was to come. Emilee may have single handedly saved our family. Emilee always went out of her way to be in constant contact with us through eve...ry step of the case. Even when we were overly needy. Emilee went above and beyond the scope of attorney, she was true counsel. I would, and have, recommended Emilee to all my friends and family.

I will not recommend her to anyone. She didn't keep us updated on the case; we always had to reach out to her for an update. We were charged full price for the "free consultation" advertised on this page. Neither she or her staff were good at returning phone calls or answering emails. She kept contin...uing the case. On 3 occasions, she asked for more $ for funds and always stated, "I can get this taken care of but I need $xxx more." After nearly 2 years, she advised us to "settle so we can get this wrapped up" when it should have gone to trial from the get-go. Her retainer fee may be lower than others in the area but that doesn't mean she won't rack up your bill. An inefficient lawyer can be just as costly as an experienced lawyer.

Emilee was outstanding! I had presented Miss Higgins with a lease/rental home issue, at the time appeared to be cut and dry. In the coming months, it turned out to be anything BUT! I never had to worry with Emilee, she was in total control the whole time! As an attorney, she went above and beyond. Mi...ss Higgins made sure I received follow up emails/calls on a minimal weekly basis and there was never a time where I had to wonder. When our case seemed to have hit a dead end I was assured by Emilee that she would see that I was taken care of. And she did JUST that! The true injustice that was being carried out by a "landlord" on the other end of this, Miss Higgins was having NO part of. She spoke up for me, brought her incredible knowledge and skill to every conversation, and above all was in my corner. I would have been in a complete bind and been a tenant that would have slipped through the cracks of fraud/an unihabitable home AND "landlords" NOT following the LAW if it wasn't for her!!!! She knew what she was doing and knew I was getting thrown to the wayside by 2 individuals. Just WOW! The best young lady around! Truly! I owe Emilee and immense amount of gratitude!! Because of her, the wrongs that were trying to be done to me were righted AND I was able to walk away from this nightmare....no questions asked! Thank goodness for people like her!!
