Bhargavi Kannan

Bhargavi Kannan is a Supervising Attorney at Brown Immigration Law. She advises employers and individuals on a broad range of employment-based and family-based immigration matters. Her practice encompasses both nonimmigrant and immigrant visa processes, including H-1B, L-1, O-1, E, TN, F-1, and J-1 petitions, as well as PERM labor certifications, EB-1 petitions, and I-140 immigrant petitions. She also assists clients with family-based immigration matters, including I-130 petitions and K visa applications.

Bhargavi has worked with clients across industries including technology, telecommunications, biotechnology, financial services, and healthcare. As a result, she understands the complex workforce challenges employers face when recruiting and retaining global talent. She works closely with organizations to develop immigration strategies that align with business goals. At the same time, she helps foreign national employees navigate the U.S. immigration system with clarity and confidence.

In addition, Bhargavi has extensive experience preparing complex immigration petitions and responding to Requests for Evidence (RFEs). She is skilled at analyzing detailed legal and factual issues and translating them into clear, practical guidance. Whether supporting workforce planning or guiding long-term immigration strategies, she is committed to responsive and thoughtful client service at every stage.

Before joining Brown Immigration Law, Bhargavi built a strong foundation in immigration law through her work with both corporate and individual clients. She is admitted to practice law in New York, Texas, and India. In 2018, she was recognized as the Best Law Student of India. She later earned a full scholarship to complete her Master of Laws (LL.M.) at Pennsylvania State University. During her studies, she gained hands-on advocacy experience in a Veterans and Servicemembers Clinic, where she helped secure a successful service-connection claim for a client.

Bhargavi brings an international legal background and multicultural perspective to her practice. As a result, she understands the challenges and opportunities of cross-border mobility. She is fluent in English, Tamil, and Hindi, with working proficiency in German and Telugu, allowing her to serve clients from diverse backgrounds effectively.

Outside of her legal work, Bhargavi enjoys swimming, running, and badminton. She also loves cooking, exploring new cuisines, and spending time with her daughter, Tridha.
