I want to start off this review with my sincerest, deepest and most humble thanks to Taylor Wikum and the professionals at Berry Law. Without their tenacious knowledgeable and attentive work, I would not be in the position I am today I started my VA claim 5 1/2 years ago after being out of the N...avy for nearly 30 years. I brushed off the idea and just felt like it was probably going to be too much work. My coworkers encouraged me to make my claims to the VA so I took the plunge. I started off the process with my local VSO and for the record he was very competent. I hold him in high regard for his ability and the initial intake and setting the stage for the entire process. After the initial claims I was awarded a 50% disability. However, many of the claims were almost immediately denied. I began the lengthy process of appealing with the assistance my VSO. After nearly 3 years into the process, my VSO admitted it was more likely than not time to seek the professional help of an attorney. This is where I learned of Berry Law by talking with my coworkers and doing my research online. I was immediately drawn to the fact that Berry law was founded by a veteran, was staffed with veterans and the Core values stated really spoke to me. I felt, after reading through the literature and some of the testimonials this was a firm I could trust. After the initial intake process, I was immediately connected to Taylor Wikum. Taylor and his staff were very attentive, very concise. I knew I had made the right choice. After careful review of my current cases and through consultation, Taylor assisted me in developing a strategy and a plan to work through the process and continue to work towards successful appeal of my disability claims. During the process secondary conditions were discovered and Taylor was swift and very succinct in addressing the service connection of a secondary condition to primary conditions for which I had already been awarded service connection. It took time well over a year, no fault of Berry law, It’s the system. After working with Taylor for over two years, the success story in this process was the VA recognised and agreed with service connected disability which resulted in 100% disability total and permanent. I knew 5 1/2 years ago, everything I was claiming was service connected but it would be a challenge given the length of time I had been out of service, recordkeeping at the time, and the overall bureaucracy of working through the claim system. I sincerely believe, in fact I know, had I not made the decision to work with Taylor and Berry Law, I would absolutely not have been successful in attaining my current status. It’s an amazing feeling! I have college age children which I can now assist them in their education. I have a younger grade school age child which I now have the knowledge and the joy of being able to say with confidence, “You absolutely get to go to college!” That is an amazing thing to be able to tell a young child. At the beginning of this process and throughout this process my stated goal to Taylor and my family was, “ I am going to be persistent. I’m going to be tenacious because my goal is to provide for my family.” My mission in life is to take care of my family. Taylor Wikum and Berry Law helped make that dream and that promise come true. For anyone reading this lengthy review I want to encourage you on a couple of things 1. Know your conditions 2. Understand service connection 3. Trust Berry Law This process is not an overnight sensation. This process takes time. The process takes patience and it takes endurance. If you have these things and if you work with Berry Law, more likely than not, you will be successful. So from the bottom of my heart again, Taylor, thank you!
