Donald J. Pistillo

I had a fairly straightforward tax problem. I owed about $8000 in back taxes and the IRS had placed a lien on my house as a result. I hired Mr. Pistillo to negotiate an offer in compromise on my behalf and also to have the lien removed. I ended up paying Mr. Pistillo roughly $2,000. Most of this sum... was billed for hours spent filling out several years of un-filed tax returns which was not difficult since I did not have any income during those years. The IRS rejected Mr. Pistillo's offer and my financial situation was only worsened through my interactions with him. I ended up calling the IRS myself. They were very helpful and agreed to stop any further interest from accruing until I could refile an offer in compromise on my own behalf. I then filled out the roughly 15 pages of forms myself in just a few hours and the IRS graciously accepted my offer which was a mere fraction of the amount I had to pay Mr. Pistillo in wasted legal fees.
