Ramstein AB Full Aquittal

I was falsely accused of 6 charges and ultimately my case was preferred to a GCM by the USAF. After researching, I came across Mr. Stephen Carpenter and had the pleasure of meeting him the same week…I knew he was the one for the job so I retained him. Mrs Carpenter is a TRAILBLAZER! From the moment... my case was preferred, his due-diligence in gathering the evidence and facts was second-to-none! He worked around the clock to secure the assistance we needed and to exhaust every effort in defending me…1) Because it his duty but also 2) Mr, Carpenter really cares about his clients. I was comfortable knowing, though, as experienced as he his, he still valued input from others…such as myself, my family and the Defense team. His attention-to-detail was paramount in narrowing in on the facts when it come to cross-examination and closing arguments. I valued his authenticity. He told me all the good and bad….even though naturally, clients only want to hear the “good.” I’ve never found myself in a court room fighting for my career and everything I’ve worked for, before. Mr. Carpenter was truly astonishing and it was like poetry watching him do what he do best. I don’t wish a GCM on anyone; however, there are only a few things certain in this life…we don’t know what tomorrow bring; therefore, if you are facing a Court martial if any kind - PLEASE hire Mr. Carpenter as your defense attorney. I have my life back and I can smile again thanks to Mr. Carpenter!!!

Your 120 GCM was one the most gratifying of my career. In such a complicated case, I was especially professionally gratified that the panel only took 50-minutes to return the "Not Guilty" verdict. I also enjoyed meeting your extraordinarily supportive family.

ABCMR Representation

I hired Stephen Carpenter to draft and submit an appeal to the Army Board for Correction of Military Records (ABCMR). The appeal was for a substantiated DAIG/DODIG Whistleblower Reprisal that I filed against my former XO in the Washington Army National Guard. I asked the ABCMR for immediate promotion... to E-8 and back pay for 4 years. The appeal was completed exceptionally well and resulted in a granting of partial relief (it is extraordinarily rare for the board to grant relief of any kind) whereas the ABCMR directed 2 NCOERS be removed from my OMPF and sending my record to a Standby Advisory Board for four years. The NCOERS have been removed and I am awaiting the results of the STAB. In all honesty I was not the easiest client to deal with. Mr Carpenter was very professional and kept reassuring me through the process (that took over a year!). Thank you Stephen!

Took the Time

A 19-year officer, I found myself the subject of an investigation into alleged misconduct and was relieved of command, facing career-ending accusations. Stephen negotiated a settlement which saved my career and my retirement. Although an area outside his area of normal military practice, it was obv...ious he took the time to research the particular law and regulations pertinent to my case. His fixed-fee system is great as it allows for open communication and discussion regarding strategy and issues without worrying about billable time. I would certainly use him again (although I hope I don't have that need again!) and recommend him to anyone facing adverse actions potentially affecting their career.

Amazing attorney!

I contacted Mr. Carpenter on a reference from an associate. Mr. Carpenter was extremely knowledgeable with everything concerning this case and was more than willing to work with me through out the entire process to ensure that there was not on thing missed. I would recommend Mr. Carpenter to anybody ...who needs a GREAT attorney for a wide scope of legal matters, especially if you are a service member. Mr. Carpenter takes great pride in his work, his appearance and overall care and concern of his clients. Thanks again Mr. Carpenter GREAT JOB!

Untrustworthy

I’m set up with Mr Carpenter and attempted to review documents and information for months. I received a message to chill out we can get to it later. He didn’t start reviewing my case until 2days prior to the board. He was unprepared and jet lagged the entire time. He identified that this was all unju...st and informed me he would continue to assist but has done nothing and doesn’t respond to messages just like before the Board. Would not recommend unsure if too many personal issues interfered or to much case load but my issues were always pushed to the back. Would not hire again.

To correct the record, the reviewer claims "nothing happened until 2 days" before his separation board. This is inaccurate because we had, many weeks before, made contact with multiple defense witnesses. In the end, we called seven (7) witnesses to testify at the board, which included an U.S. Army (ret.) Brigadier General, a MAJ, a CPT, a 1SG, a SGT, and two PFCs. It was candidly phenomenal that we got so many, as the reviewer was on video committing indecent exposure with a female soldier. Afterward, and contrary to his "they done nothing" claim, the firm did next appeal to HRC, based on due process grounds. As a direct result, HRC "suspended" the reviewer's separation for 1-year, so he was permitted to continue to work. I acknowledge that the reviewer wanted the board to retain him, and we worked hard to accomplish this goal, unfortunately the damning video was just too much to overcome.
