I would recommend Mr. Carpenter to anyone facing separation. Mr. Carpenter was able to get me retained after facing a possible dishonorable discharge. Instead Of receiving a dishonorable discharge I was retained on active duty and was able to keep all my benefits after ETS'ing. Without Mr. Carpen...ter I don't know where I would be.

A co-worker sexually harassed me within 30 days of my arrival in the unit; I reported the incident hoping the SHARP representative and the command would do the right things. Instead I was treated inhumanely from ridiculous findings of fabricated the incident ... and recommendations of negative coun...seling for effective communication and anger management. I called Mr. Carpenter and we submitted an appeal. Today I received a call “a full vindication and findings of reprisal". Mr. Carpenter, I cannot thank you enough. My prayers were answered when I found Stephen Carpenter. Without him I know my Airman wouldn't be coming home this month. After much research, as well as personal military references, I knew my Airman was in good hands... the BEST hands. It was the wisest investment we have ever made. Steph...en, and his staff of experts ,kept us informed every step of the way -- of the process , our options and what to expect should we have to go to court. As a mom , there is nothing more frightening than to know your child is thousands of miles away , alone with a court appointed attorney who may just look at them as a number.... A way to check the box in his/her career. Not with Stephen. He truly cares about his clients - and their families back home. He , too , is invested in a positive outcome for all parties involved. His work ethic is impeccable. He encouraged us to spend time as a family while he and his staff worked until all hours of the night preparing every detail for what the next step might hold. He was amazing to watch in court . He had every ear perked and his style was captivating.... and , obviously for us, successful to the end. He gave us the best 2 words I've ever heard -- NOT GUILTY !! He , Mr. Court , and their incredible panel of experts will forever be heroes in our world. Much like our children who choose to serve our great nation- there are never enough words to express our gratitude for what they give back to us all. There is not a bigger fan of Court and Carpenter than me and my family. You should wholeheartedly give them a chance to bring joy , peace and a future back to your family as well.

Stephen Carpenter pulled a Hail Mary that absolutely saved the career I'd worked so hard on for 15 years. I was under an investigation that had dragged on for months and months that was surely about to end my field grade career and potentially put me in jail and/or out of the service. Having that h...anging over my head day in and day out put me in a slump and I couldn't sleep, had trouble focusing, lost all motivation to do anything and couldn't bear being around the people I had to work with. I took leave over and over again just to escape. A military lawyer friend of mine told me to hire a civilian lawyer because of the freedoms they have and the motivation they have that military lawyers might not. I couldn't believe he would recommend that, but I did my research and wanted the absolute best, no matter what the cost. That's when I found Stephen. I sent a plea for help, and Stephen met with me the very next day. He continued to be as responsive to my inquiries throughout the process which gave me peace of mind and he never judged me or the situation I was in. His bearing, his expertise, and his vast knowledge of the system that was about to end my way of life, (a life I'd worked so hard for for over a decade) put me at ease immediately and that alone was worth the retainer. I should have done it at the very beginning of the investigation because he was a force to be reckoned with once I had him in my corner. He dove into my case, saturated himself with knowledge of the evidence they had against me, protected me from further questioning, got information from our military legal folks about the status of my case, and had access to subject matter experts to help defend me. He also directly engaged my leadership to tell them the charges were ridiculous. All that put together got my case pretty much dismissed. Not even in my wildest dreams would I have imagined it could go so well. Although I was looking at potential jail time and a general or other than honorable discharge, I got nothing. My name was cleared fully, I was unflagged and given high ratings for my last eval, I went into a nominative position after that one, I maintained my career, started sleeping through the night, kept my family intact, stayed out of jail, and kept the life I'd been working for. Even my Mom is thankful for what he did for me. I wish I'd contacted him sooner, he was a life saver and I'd absolutely recommend him to anyone that finds themselves worried about their military careers at any point of the nonjudicial or judicial process. Thank you Mr. Carpenter, I'll never forget what you did for me.

Mr. Carpenter made me feel safe. When no one seemed to be on my side, he was. Anytime I needed to contact him, he made himself available. He was engaging with my Command and very knowledgeable on Coast Guard/Military policies. My initial contact with Mr. Carpenter was immediate, with no hassles, no f...orms or procedures that needed to be taken care first. He took care of everything, and most importantly me.
