Michelle E. Jakobe

Michelle E. Jakobe graduated from the University of Kansas with a B.A. in 1988 and earned her Juris Doctor degree from the Washburn University School of Law with Dean’s Honors in 1991. With over twenty-nine years of practice as a family and divorce attorney in the Kansas City Area, Ms. Jakobe is licensed to practice law in both Missouri and Kansas, and has significant experience in a variety of counties on both sides of the state line. Ms. Jakobe has over 22 years of experience in the private practice of Family Law as well as an additional seven years of experience handling Complex National Products Liability Defense Litigation. Having opened her own firm in July 2020, Ms. Jakobe continues to focus her practice on all areas of Family Law, including adoptions, divorce, modification, child support, custody, collaborative law, and protection from abuse. Ms. Jakobe is currently a member of the Family Law Section of the Missouri Bar, the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, the Johnson County Bar Association, the Kansas Women’s Attorney Association, and the Collaborative Law Divorce Professionals of Greater Kansas City. In addition to her involvement with several associations, Ms. Jakobe also serves as a Guardian ad Litem and Mediator.
