Melissa Kelly Schroeder

Melissa Schroeder is unique of sorts - A small law firm that she owns, and two magnificent paralegals. Melissa did more for me in 3 Motion filings than the last 2 counsels I had on my family case and she delivered results. Anyone knows that a Small Business is typically 5 employees or less and given ...she is about an office of 3 employees that are working diligently (from my own experience) with pleadings, conference calls, court hearings, depositions, and who knows what else I'd say for the amount of people they are doing a great job. A mention was made of billing issues - Well, the saying is true - "You pay for what you get." As for office door being locked - Did one ever think to call and schedule a time to meet with counsel or the paralegals? I've been to Melissa's office twice but I always was thoughtful in setting up a date/time ahead of time by sending a simple email. You will find many lawyers in Johnson County but you will only find a few that actually care about the best interests of your children and you the client. Melissa is someone I am proud to have had involved in my case and consider her to be a great person.

Melissa is the best! She knows the law and procedures so well that she has consistently come up with great, effective options/assets/cards to play at every turn, more than any other attorney I've even heard of. But more than that, she is discerning. She looks before she leaps. She will analyze ...a situation closely and with patience, noting its idiosyncrasies before jumping to rash actions. She has kept me from doing things that might have won a battle but very possibly lost the war multiple times. She won't make you look flaky by trying far-fetched or thinly-rooted strategies and just hoping the court will buy it (or that the other side will be cowed into relenting), the way some attorneys do. When she makes a move, it is on solid ground. I guess I should also say that Melissa's first and favored option seems to be to cooperate with the other side and come up with a mutually acceptable agreement at the least possible expense and with the least possible destructive battling - which is admirable and of course desirable. My situation didn't offer that option, but she did try that avenue first and give it more than a couple of chances to take hold. Melissa was my 3rd attorney on my initial case - in which I was in bad, bad shape - and she turned the whole thing around to a point that the ultimate judgment gave me even more than I was asking. The other side appealed, and Melissa defeated that very quickly and decisively. The other side came at us again with another case, and Melissa handled that wonderfully too. In the end, the other side settled with an agreement that was even more solid legally than our initial situation, and was on better terms than I probably should have even hoped for when it started. Melissa is the best!!

Melissa Kelly conducts her law practice with integrity, competence, courtesy, responsiveness, and professionalism. 1, Ms. Kelly listens well to her clients, advises what she can and cannot provide, and acts promptly. Since our first consultation, she has quickly understood which legal options wer...e available to me and proceeded directly on the option that we agreed together to pursue. She does not deviate from her agreement with the client. And during no part of the case has she wasted time with small talk. 2. In every engagement, Ms. Kelly has demonstrated the utmost respect to me in addition to keeping focus on my case. Actions with the court and me were consistently timely and complete. 3. Ms. demonstrated for me integrity with honesty. She not only fought for her client but also fought for her principles for doing the right thing.

She promised moon , stars doing intake. Took a month to send the first email. Burnt most of my retainer to get everything opposing legal counsel wanted, through her robotic paralegals. then withdrawn citing health or mother surgery , some such reason. She did zero defense, when there were false ac...cusations. I would rather plead my spouse, to reconcile than working with these hypocrites. Stay away.
