Jim Berger Practices law with the Berger Law Firm, P.A., in Leawood, Kansas. He is licensed in Kansas and Missouri, and concentrates his practice in the areas of estate planning, elder law and probate. He has been an attorney for over twenty-five years. He has also earned the Certified Financial Planner professional designation.
He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Minnesota, magna cum laude, and his law degree from William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Jim is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys - most recently serving as President, the Eastern Kansas Estate Planning Council, the Kansas Bar Association Section on Real Estate, Probate and Trust Law and past Chairman of the Kansas Bar Association Committee on Legal Issues Affecting the Elderly and the Disabled.
Jim has been an instructor for Continuing Legal Education Classes on Estate Planning and Elder Law for the University of Missouri at Kansas City Law School and the Kansas Bar Association.

Didn't help at all
Tryed to get some questions asked about how to handle my mothers estate n financial matters as she has lewy's body dememinta n couldn't answer. Paid a outrageous retainer fee for him to go thru a box n put it into a-z and recieved no help with financial/banks. Was either to busy at conferences or no ...

Not worth hiring
Not a great experience. My father's estate has been in probate from 2012 until now (Feb 2016). He does not meed court deadlines, and bills questionably in which the Court reduced his fee do to some shady bookkeeping. My father's estate was worth 130K, however, he allowed it to settle for 84K.
