Larry Clinton Hoffman

I hired Mr. Hoffman many years ago and kept him on my high conflict divorce case for many years. I was new to the divorce world and didn’t know any better. Hoffman was, like many attorneys, hard to reach. No, I did not call him and email him several times a day; I simply sent one email, and sometimes... waited 4-7 business days for a response. I was very organized and sent him detailed notes. He never reviewed them or remembered the details, and like with others who reviewed him here, he would then walk into court and quote incorrect facts despite me providing all the correct and relevant facts to him before court. He didn’t actively manage my case, or get on top of the extreme conflict, thereby never assisting to nip it in the bud from the early days and leaving me with a legacy of unresolved conflict. There are simple tools he could have requested the court order in my case to calm things down, like the Our Family Wizard family portal that tracks emails, expenses, and kids’ events online. He never had the thought to even ask for this on my case despite the high conflict. I have hired two attorneys since his work on my case, each many times better at managing a high conflict divorce and remembering case details. They have cared about my case. Hoffman didn’t have any personal investment in my case, didn’t seem to want to calm things down, and was arrogant particularly in court. I’ve since learned he’s called the “Country Club Lawyer” because he is viewed by his lawyer peers as the guy who has family money and just wants to play golf, but has a law business just to look reputable and functioning. If you have a super simple case with no drama, maybe he’d be OK to hire. Otherwise, you can pick almost any other lawyer’s name out of the phone book and do better than him.
