Procedural Abuse Isn’t Advocacy

If you’re looking for “strong and reputable advocacy,” look elsewhere. David Fairbanks doesn’t practice law — he practices retaliation. He manipulates procedure, buries truth with paperwork, and weaponizes the court system against anyone who challenges his narrative. Despite branding himself as a ...protector of families, Fairbanks has spent years exacerbating conflict, misrepresenting facts to the court, and targeting individuals outside the case with false allegations — all while hiding behind the court’s unwillingness to hold him accountable. He filed pleadings during an active appellate stay, pushed for sanctions against a non-party simply for defending herself, and worked to strip a father of his rights by capitalizing on his limited availability and lack of legal resources. When caught, he doubled down with personal attacks and baseless accusations. This firm doesn’t bring peace or resolution — it brings damage and division. They thrive when their opposition is exhausted or uninformed. If you’re vulnerable, they’ll exploit it. If you fight back, they’ll retaliate. If you’re on the other side, be ready for gaslighting, procedural ambushes, and a total disregard for ethics. Don’t be fooled by the branding. Fairbanks Crane LLC may claim to advocate for families — but in reality, they break them down and profit from the chaos.

Best possible experience

I hired David Fairbanks to represent me in an ongoing, ugly grandparents visitation civil case in which I was the respondent. I had already been represented (poorly), and then also completely “ghosted” by the first lawyer I had hired for this same case a year before. She had done a sad, cliche thin...g that makes people not trust lawyers in general - took my money, solved nothing, then just randomly disappeared and refused to respond to countless calls, emails, etc. Needless to say, I felt completely drained, frustrated and not at all optimistic, but I knew I still had to do something. So I took a recommendation and put the tiniest sliver of trust I had left in David. I also have lived out of state for over a year so he had the extra daunting tasks of having to jump in way late to the case, and to conduct everything from an entirely different state and time zone. He really didn’t miss a beat though. I was initially just pleasantly surprised that he was able to sift through what seemed like piles of garbage baggage from the previous messes and poor handling by both my own vanished counsel as well as the petitioner’s counsels’s insane tactics. David remained cool, calm and collected, as he navigated that nonsense, carried my case through many motions, another lengthy mediation session AND even all the way through an actual trial with a judge, which I understand is not terribly common with these types of cases as most people are much more reasonable than my nightmare of a family member. The trial was overwhelming for me as I just wanted this to leave me alone already, and I was just doing my best to protect the best interests for my young child (I’m a single mother, with no support and this whole miserable experience could easily have shattered me completely if I hadn’t had the great fortune to find David as it was coming to a complete boiling over time). I greatly appreciated the time he took to get a true sense of me, my personal history and the case overall. He gave me a lot of confidence because I “knew” I had been doing the right thing, but the insane amount of emotional abuse had begun to wear me down and I really was beginning to doubt anyone would EVER hear me, much less understand and actually advocate for me and my child. I was, thankfully, wrong - David did all of that and more - he completely took over and handled all the heavy lifting. I felt comfortable speaking with him openly, and I could relate to his demeanor easily as he was professional yet kept it clear, realistic and down to earth. He even made me laugh a few times which I thought was impossible by that point! MOST importantly, however, he WON the case at trial - completely slayed really - it looked as though he could have run circles around the other attorney, and the judge ruled completely in my favor, as well as ordered attorney fees paid/reimbursed to me in full by the petitioner. I would recommend him to anyone, without hesitation. If you find yourself or any loved one in a situation and need an honest, respectful, and truly superior family law attorney, this is who you hire. Thank you, thank you David (and Dottie who is his office manager, and is a gem of a human as well!!)

Excellent Attorney

Mr. Fairbanks did an excellent job with my estate planning. He was very knowledgeable on the subject, explained things in great detail, and I would highly recommend him. I've sent friends for family law, childcare worksheets, etc. and they've been very pleased. He doesn't simply tell you what you ...want to hear, but what you need to hear. A true fiduciary.

Divorce and family matters

David is a very knowledgeable Attorney in Family Law. He is a very straight forward and caring person. While with David I felt like my situation was personnel to him. He always gave me the best advise and was always able to weigh risk vs benefits. I have recommended him to family and friends. When he... was dealing with my family member the best possible solution was made for a very difficult situation. Without his help, my family member would not have any time with his child. If you are looking for someone to stand up for you, hire David!
