Geri Lynne Hartley

Geri became a partner with Nicholson, Dasenbrock & Hartley, LC, in 2012. In addition to her law degree, she also holds a Masters in Business Administration. She continues her work in the same community at Hartley Law Group, LLC. She practices both in and out of the courtroom on a daily basis. In addition to her criminal defense work, Geri’s litigious practice areas include adoptions, children in need of care, estates, guardianships, trusts and their administration, and other probate matters.

Geri provides criminal defense services in Miami, Linn, Bourbon, and Jefferson Counties. She provides effective defense against a wide variety of criminal charges including traffic, misdemeanor, DUI, and drug crimes in both municipal and district courts in Kansas.

Transactional legal work done includes drafting of wills or trusts, powers of attorney, or tax advice. Geri is skilled in the area of long range and tax planning for companies, organizations, and individuals. Geri drafts wills, trusts, incorporation documents, and contracts. Geri enjoys developing long relationships with clients and working with the community.

Geri's previous legal experience includes work at the Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services reviewing complaints, drafting memos and notices, and hearing preparation for cases of abuse, neglect, and exploitation. At the Kansas Court of Tax Appeals, Geri reviewed and analyzed tax exemption applications while working closely with court judges on tax cases ranging from small claims to million dollar state contracts. She has a variety of tax experience, including tax law research and franchise support for a Fortune 500 company, preparing returns for individuals, working with nonprofit and 501(c) organizations, and directing the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program.
