A definitely do not hire.
It is like he loses on purpose once you have a sunk cost with him. Then you have to keep rehiring and he is always there with his hand out for more on the retainer but can't show up to hearings or return calls.

Never returns phone calls, doesn't inform new hearing dates
My daughter was appointed to him. She could never get a return phone call. He would schedule phone conferences, then not available when she called for the appointment. He missed court dates, continued court dates, then would not inform her about the new date and time. She ended up with a warrant ...
