My daughter was appointed to him. She could never get a return phone call. He would schedule phone conferences, then not available when she called for the appointment. He missed court dates, continued court dates, then would not inform her about the new date and time. She ended up with a warrant ...for failure to appear, totally his fault. I work at a law firm and know how the process should work. He fails.

Very simple, he won't return a single call (so far)... multiple calls over a period of more than a week... i even got ahold of a very nice young lady in his office and left a message with her, still nothing, (so far)... can't he even call while driving, or having coffee, or taking a crap??? i am sure... there is time in his very busy schedule for a 3 to 7 minute call... i do realize he does a lot of work as a public defender, and probably is over whelmed by the numbers of people they have him represent, but maybe i had good news, or maybe i am from Publisher's clearing House, or maybe Santa wants to know what he wants for X-mas, or maybe i am offering him a better paying job... one never truly knows until they return a call... Ho Ho Ho Mr. Berry... hope you have a nice holiday and bless you for all the hard work and diligent representation you do for a bunch of accused young people who are Presumed Innocent until proven guilty...

It requires an act of Got to get a response from him. Hiring him was suicidal or like shooting in my own foot, When I asked , what else can I do to get a response, He said, the retainer is within $500 , then I made a payment of $2000 and replaced him with a new legal next day and asked Mr. Berry ...for a refund. He is threatening me to send more bills, if I do not go away. He is super lazy. He screwed me up ~ my spousal support eligibility of up to $250, 000, by signing a decree secretly without a maintenance clause , without my approval or consent or showing me the draft. He showed me the decree 6 days after he signed it on my behalf declining spousal support favoring my rich spouse. When I asked about it, he says, ~ his paralegal had heard over speaker phone ~ some such nonsense. But the bright side is , he is well liked by Johnson county Judges. They may not like you switching him over to a new legal. If you end up hiring him, be with him, no matter what he does or does not. He does not communicate, he does not have honest invoices, he does not have meetings, he does not discuss your options, he does not ask your consent to sign something on your behalf. He does not show you decree drafts before signing and submitting the court, He does not even file DRA , which is basic. Highly unprofessional. These events are already stressful, rich spouses, lying lawyers, gender discrimination in these courts. Ultimately justice is denied to me in Johnson county court. I lost everything in my 20 years, not just earnings, but also all family. I am trying to restart over somewhere, somehow for no fault of mine. He did promise me moon, stars , Mahatma Gandhi, Mother Teresa, during intake, but once credit card goes through, he goes to absolute silence, Following feedback is my own opinion and experience of hiring Mr. Berry. It is not influenced by anyone. True Intention here following ~ share future clients candid feedback while choosing a legal, in these stressful situations. I still wish Mr. Berry the best of luck in his career.

A friend referred Marc. I was looking forward to working with him and seeing him in action. I paid him for a custody case and pfa case. He did nothing for my custody case- in fact, my ex’s attorney filed the motion. He “represented” me for the pfa case and was more concerned about the dr appt he had ...after the hearing.I haven’t heard a word from him since the day of that hearing (3 months ago) and had to finally demand he withdraw from my case. Lack of communication has been an issue since the beginning- I try to be understanding but it seems as if he’s out of the office more than he’s in. Haven’t received money back from him on the custody case. Wasn’t sure if he ever received my emails- based on the bill I received he sure did just never responded. Proceed with caution!
